By all means though; give up on all science has given us.

I would not agree with that. I would say that with the development of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, science has brought all of humanity to the brink of total extinction. Instead of developing these horrific weapons, scientists and others should turn their attention to ways of eliminating them so that mankind can survive. What is to prevent a hacker from getting the codes to unleashing these weapons? Already hackers are breaking into the most secure computer networks around the world.

Again, why are you all discussing science at all? Catholicism and science are not incompatible in any way shape or form. Catholics believe in and rely on science just like you do. So I’m struggling to see the relevance.
