What is your definition of “Catholic”?

I wish people would stop calling pro-aborts “Catholic” just because they themselves do so!!

If you can be excommunicated for something (promoting abortion) and you do it, you are not still Catholic…

In a sense you are Catholic all your life - every baptised Catholic, no matter what their sins, is pretty much only a good confesion away from coming home again.

On the other hand, if Catholicism is defined as being in communion with the Pope (and that really is our defining feature vis-a-vis Orthodox, Protestants and other Christians) then they most definitely are not Catholic.
