I’m Catholic (cradle) and my husband is not. We do not use conventional birth control at this time but have used pull/pray method and masturbation. I have confessed about previous use of birth control but only recently learned that ejaculation outside the womb is a mortal sin. I discussed this with my husband and he became very upset saying “how can the Church dictate when we have sex?”. Then said he’d get a vasectomy. I explained there is only a small window when I can get pregnant and we just abstain then, I also said I’d learn to use NFP. His response was still anger that we can’t be spontanous and greatly disagrees with the Churches teaching. I’m at a loss please guide me in further discussion with him.
