First of all, please know that you are in my prayers…:byzsoc:
I am so sad, hearing about your great loss. I know from losing dear ones myself, just how painful this can be. You are doing the exact right thing, in seeking out help to deal with your grieving.
I am
very sorry that your parents are behaving in this way. It is not only hurtful to you, but they are also only hurting themselves, by allowing their own bitterness to separate them from you. That is pitiful, really, to think of the fact that they have held themselves back from loving & caring. It is their loss, because now they are left alone in their pain…
It sounds to me as though they are simply very unhappy, angry people, possibly even somewhat unbalanced. (How can being a teacher possibly be a failure? Isn’t teaching one of the greatest vocations that anyone can have, to be called to instruct & mentor others? Of course it is!!)
Please, don’t give up on your faith!! Somewhere in Scripture are these words: “When my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will lift me up”. Place yourself in the loving embrace of Our Lord. God is the one Person Who will never, ever, turn away from us.
Go to France! You are an adult now; your parents have no power & no right to hold you back from this. The only thing you can do for them, as long as they persist in this attitude, is to pray for their hearts to be softened.
God bless you, & also your husband. May you be very conscious always of the Everlasting Arms of the Almighty, holding you & comforting you. Leave your brother in His all-loving hands. Again, God bless you always!
In His Name, & in His service,
