My husband and I have been having lots of issues this past year.
We live in Mexico together but I am currently in Texas with my parents. We have a 2.5 year old son and a baby. We lived off of a small grocery store in Mexico. My husband told me he was having trouble with the store but he waited till last minute to let me know its not just trouble but the store is gone. he has nothing on the shelves but maybe a few bags of soap and some detergent and maybe 10 bags of chips. (Our store had everything. Drinks, chips, cookies, milk, cheese, produce, candy, canned goods, soaps, shampoos, everything.) We used to live completely off of this store. and he ran it down into the ground in the month and a half that I have been here. He claims he lost the money from a weekend’s sale. which would be roughly 500 dollars. but the store had maybe 2500 dollars in inventory. He also says the truck messed up quite a few times and he had to fix it. (which I told him if it messed up, dont fix it. the truck isnt important.) We used to hava a small 4 cyllinder pickup truck. Perfect for us. He decided one day that he needed a better truck. I fought with him and told him NO. He said YES. he borrowed abour 300 dollars from someone and traded our truck in for an 8 cyllinder big truck. He has never wanted to let me know who he borrowed money from and whether he still owes them or not.
It seems to me my husband makes bad decisions. We used to live in Texas too but ever since we got to Mexico, I feel he has changed. I tell him this and he says no. He says I always think I am in the right and that is our problem: me.
He is not Catholic, though he married me in the church and wants our children baptized and encourages me to go to mass but he wont go with me. (he started to go with me every now and then before we left the states but not anymore, since we got to mexico)
The reason why we moved was because he wanted a change of life. I agreed. We do like life in MExico but it seems it has changed him. (I wonder if I have changed… but I really dont think I have)
Now, there are days he tells me he hasnt eaten. He has no job, though has been looking. But I cant help but think he isnt trying hard enough. he was a very hardworking man here in the states, so I find it confusing that he cant find anything to at least feed himself.
How can I go home if he cant provide for us? I wish he would work and make sure things were stable for us to go back. But he doesnt seem to be too worried.
Sometimes I feel he doesnt care for us the way he should. But this isnt the way he was before. I know he does love us, but it feels different.
Maybe its sort of like a crisis or something weird???
I feel like I cant trust him to take care of us.
I appreciate any prayers or advice. Anything. I just dont know what to think sometimes. I want to go back to him and work on our marriage, but… he needs to work on it too by getting a job. Am i wrong??
