Are you speaking from personal experience Calvinator?
Yup…7 years in the USMC. There are of course some outstanding folks in the military but some very, very hard partying does occur.

BTW, I just realized that the OP wasn’t all that worried about folks staying Catholic. Guess I should have read more than the first post.

Needless to say, helping our guys keep their Catholic faith is a priority. 😃

I think it’s pretty important to put the show on the other foot and suggest that n-Cs consider how they would feel if someone was actively seeking to proselytize their soldiers away from their faith.

One thing that we faithful Catholics are always going to have an issue with are those who feel that they need to actively seek to convert Catholics away from our most holy faith. Like I said the other day, if someone seeks to evangelize me out of the Catholic faith, I reserve the right to counter evangelize them. 😃

What you say above is true, it’s just my opinion that the biggest threat won’t come from another Christian. The biggest threat will come from all the temptation around him.

-continued-

Again, you are not qualified to judge who’s dedication of their life to Christ is more genuine. Are you saying ALL Confirmations are forced upon immature participants, who only do it because they are required to? Balderdash. Are you also saying that the ‘rebirth’ of all 17 yr olds in the Baptist faith are 100% sincere and in no way pressured? Again, balderdash. I’ve seen the fruits of more than a few that would make me assume otherwise.

I don’t question your dedication to Christ. But you artificially separate yourself from others based on an unwillingness to associate with the less-than-perfect. I don’t think that was Christ’s example. Only God could build a perfect Church from imperfect people. It’s a shame you reject that Church and turn to your own interpretations. I applaud Karl Keating for imploring others not to follow that path.

Sorry for the super long post. Sometimes I get wordy.

-Peace
Noted. Well stated and good points.

Objection: witness presents a conclusion not in evidence. How is “profitable” equal to all sufficient? Like I said…it’s just not there. But you persist…🤷 You presume (probably because you want to believe so) that it is bearing fruit and that the fruit is God’s.
2 Tim 315-17: " And that from a child you have know the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoughly furnished to all good works."

From the context profitable equates to the man of God being perfect thoughly furnished to all good works.

Thouroughly = nothings missing. Perfect = nothing missing.

Holy Scripture = make you wise to salvation through faith. Meaning = nothings missing. No this that or the other thing is lacking.

I understand people do as they believe them (catholics) to be unsaved.

I see your point. Someone professes to be a Christian. So be it. Move on over to the Hindu’s etc .

One thing that does bother me is in the congregation people will ask for prayer because so and so talked with this “catholic” …blah, blah, blah … hence praying for their salvation. But I never hear … so and so talked with this baptist blah, blah, blah,…and pray for their salvation etc… Just because someone is baptist does not = salvation. Just thought I would mention that.

I fully agree my friend. We have a responsibility to spiritually support our people. this is one way we can do it. Hopefully it will inspire them to dig deeper and grow in their faith. A trying time of similar nature certainly did me. 🙂

Sorry… but your case still fails because it nowhere even implies that it is the sole authority that n-C religion makes it out to be. Especially in New Testament context.

Acts 20:[35] In all things I have shown you that by so toiling one must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, `It is more blessed to give than to receive’" shows oral tradition. I get into this more in Tradition? No way!

Bingo! My point exactly! But you’ve never been in my parish with me at daily Mass, nor do you know how many of us include and share prayer intentions for the salvation of others, so you draw an inaccurate conclusion from your own personal experience. 🤷

If that were the only source of teaching that the Eucharist (Suspecting that this is what you refer to) is based upon then you might have a case, but your argument has been soundly refuted time and again with the word of God.(The Eucharist IS Scriptural), which means that if your argument is true then St. Paul taught error in his letters. It’s hard to tell when you make these kind of remarks and try to sugar coat your essential message that we are deceived and not Christians. And anyone with an IQ higher than a pebble can look at your remarks and see that what I say is true.

Professions of love for us are just empty words on a screen when someone makes the kind of deceptive and unfounded generalizations against us that you have just now. You expect us to believe you?:dts:

That’s nice. I suggest that you begin praying that the Holy Spirit pry your unscriptural security from your fist and that you finally have the courage to test all things and prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (1st Thessalonians 5:21)
Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
your case still fails because it nowhere even implies that it is the sole authority
Kudos for an outstanding reply, but I fear brother malachi_a_serva has hardend his heart so severely that it is impenetrable to the Truth. I pray that the Lord soften his heart so that he might recognize the “Pillar and Foundation of Truth, which is The Church”

God bless both you and him.

Your brother in Christ.

I don’t know about his heart, but like you I pray for him all the time.:signofcross:
