Please pray for me. I am quitting smoking (cigarettes) after many years. I need prayer to conquer this horrible addiction. If you have time, say a little prayer for me. I believe in the power of prayer.
Thank you so much!

Praying for you.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Praying for God to help break the headlock that the cigarettes have on you.

Amen.

Thanks to all for your prayers. I haven’t smoked in three days now…going cold turkey.
Keep those prayers coming!

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Afternoon reading (None) (Colossians 1:12-14) ©
We thank the Father who has made it possible for us to share in the saints’ inheritance of light. He has taken us out of the power of darkness and created a place for us in the kingdom of the Son that he loves. In him, we gain our freedom and the forgiveness of our sins.

… Praying for you!

Cold turkey is the best way. I did it 10 + years ago and haven’t lit up once since. I will pray very hard for you. The struggle will be worth it! :gopray2:

Praying for your intentions…

RW, I will include your intention in my morning rosary,I also will be quitting next week, cold turkey. WOW,good for you 3 days,I would say GOD is really helping you

Lord, we look to you for all that we need to endure each trial laid out before us, and in your mercy you provide for us. Grant RWMorris the strength and conviction to be free from the addiction she has endured, and restore her health with each day of freedom.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our Daily Bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us,
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

My prayers are with you RWMorris. I quit also over 10 years ago and can’t stand the smell of them now. Cold Turkey! I had prayers said for me also. You can do it by the grace of God.👍

Good luck to you bubbie…cold turkey is the way and lots of prayers!👍

In September, it will be 4 years since I quit…cold turkey. Best way! And I smoked most of my life. Being 61, that’s a good many years. Never thought I’d be able to do it. God is good. He will help you, and I will add you to my prayers.

You CAN do it. 👍

Just to let you all know, your prayers are working. It has been seven days and the craving is slowly diminishing. I am using Nicorette gum to help but only a couple of pieces a day…no patch or anything like that.
Praise God! I feel like I can get through this…
Thanks to all and keep me in your prayers,
Lissa

RWMorris:

I’m praying for you to get rid of this addiction.

Prayerfully,
