Dear Friends:

Ann Scheidler and the Pro-Life Action League are leading a national protest campaign against American Girl Dolls because of their affiliation with pro-abort/contraception/gay agenda Girls, Inc. thru their ICAN campaign…see link below.

I had asked Ann Scheidler’s permission to distribute this info far and wide. This is an issue that every one can truly support. The idea that these feminine vultures are using the innocence of girls, thru multi-million dollar commerce of the American Girl doll, to spread their “culture of death” philosophies, is absolutely REVOLTING!

What ICANs message here is …“Sure, honey, you can decide when YOU want to have sex, how you want to have sex, assault your body and your baby’s body anyway you want. That’s the old I CAN spirit! It just adds to your self-esteem and empowers you to be what you want to be - and don’t let your old-fashioned parents stop you, girl!”

Please help PLAL get the message out.

American Girl Dolls is complicit in this repulsive stealth campaign of influencing our little girls to do evil. Please don’t be silent - speak out.

Thanks so much.

Have sent an email to Ms. Brothers. We have been buying American Girl products for our granddaughter for several years now. We will no longer purchase their products as long as they support Girls, Inc.

Peace,
Linda

I too have sent an email to AG. We just received the recent catalogue in the mail and I looked through to find the “I Can” bracelet. It’s there. Sad.

I’ve let the grandma know so no AG gifts under the tree this year! Also sad but I feel necessary and what we are called to do. We must put our money where our mouth is—we proclaim to follow Christ and the teachings of the Church, then our purchasing decisions should be a reflection of that life.

Where was the pro-abortion part on the girl.inc on the site? I didn’t see it. It’s probably just because I’m lazy though, It’s taking me enough work just to write this response.

hmmmmmm…

I think am going to buy a few American Girl Doll products for my little cousin this Christmas. I take serious issue with a bunch of narrow-minded fanatics attempting to impose their beliefs on the rest of the population!

And, i’ll be sending a letter to the company stating this along with a copy of my order!

If “narrow minded fanatic” means “Follower of Christ” then count me in!

I tossed the AG catalogue. I wouldn’t even use it to line my bird’s cage. Birds deserve better.

I have written to AG and Mattel and called customer service and had my name removed from their mailing list.

I’m boycotting 100%.

Call customer service and have your name removed from the mailing list… and most importantly tell them WHY you are having it removed.

It used to be prominently displayed on their front page. But, now they’ve removed that and so it’s buried within their Girl’s Bill Of Rights.

You have to dig to find the pages that state their support of Roe v Wade. Look at the description of their program that includes sex ed. And, there is also a page about their support of alternative lifestyles.

Birds should be shot. I’m tired of them waking me up. Especially sparrows, arrogant sob’s.

Except blue jay’s. All blue jay’s can live.

You don’t think you might be able to quote it for me do you, seeing as how you seem to know where it is. There’s no way I’m looking through pages of stuff.

From today’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (registraion required):

jsonline.com/news/wauk/oct05/366844.asp

A Catholic school in Waukesha County is the first non-profit group in the nation to cancel a coveted American Girl Fashion Show amid concerns that the Wisconsin-based doll company behind the show gives money to a national girls organization that presents abortion, contraception and a lesbian sexual orientation as acceptable.

News of the decision by parent volunteers and the pastor at St. Luke School in Brookfield is being reported in bulletins at Masses this weekend.

“It seemed like a match made in heaven; a motivated Catholic school and an all-American icon,” Father Frank Malloy, the pastor, says in his printed explanation. “We seemed poised to raise enough funds for a new playground and a remake of the school library.”

But, he concludes, “As for us, it’s a bargain we’ll just have to pass up. The cost is too high. Our integrity isn’t for sale.”

The school had hoped to raise $10,000 to $30,000. An internet campaign to donate a few bucks seems to be in order:

“Organizers had planned to mail invitations to more than 20,000 American Girl doll owners in a wide region. They had hoped to raise at least $10,000 - and perhaps $30,000 or more - through ticket and raffle sales, business sponsorships, and a percentage of sales of American Girl’s dolls, books, clothes and other products, said the event’s co-chairwomen, Marisa Beffel of Brookfield and Catherine Valentyn of the town of Brookfield.”

!
This is why you should really be indignant over the business ethics of American Girl. THEY are the ones trying to impose their beliefs.

If we disagree with them, don’t we have a right to not buy their product?

And if there beliefs contradict our faith (which is Catholic) and we want to warn other Catholics, wouldn’t this be a logical place to do it?

How is not buying a product, and letting them know why we are not buying a product, imposing our beliefs on anyone?

Join The Boycott - Sign The Boycott Pledge…

“We regret that American Girl has chosen to sully their wholesome image in order to provide financial support for Girls Inc,” Scheidler said. “But since they have chosen to ignore the pleas of pro-life parents and grandparents, we must urge pro-lifers not to purchase American Girl products as of Tuesday, November 1.”

Scheidler remarked that with the Christmas shopping season coming up, pro-life parents have a ideal opportunity to send a message to American Girl—and corporate American in general—that they will not allow their consumer dollars to support an anti-life, anti-family agenda.

Scheidler invited pro-lifers to join the boycott and to sign the League’s Boycott Pledge.

Scheidler also called attention to an alternative to American Girl dolls, the Life of Faith dolls offered by Mission City Press. The books that accompany these dolls feature stories of girls living out their Christian faith with heroism.

hmmmm…asking people to not buy a certain product imposes beliefs how?

A classic case of freedom of expression for me, but not for thee.

And anyone who is a member of AOL you might want to defend our Holy Mother Church from the bigotry being expressed on the opinion boards as the result of this issue.
