Does anyone have a list of denoms that are pro-choice???
Practically all the mainstream (liberal) protestant denominations, all the liberal Jewish ones, and the humanist ones (Unitarian, Ethical Society, etc)Does anyone have a list of denoms that are pro-choice???
They are predominantly pro-abortion, but there is a group called Episcopalians for Life, and also one called Anglicans for Life. How about the Episcopalians?
Absolutely no way Hosea. Our PP allows a homosexual union but NO WAY does he support pro-choice.I’d guess that any that allow or endorse homosexuality would also be pro choice.
say what now?Absolutely no way Hosea. Our PP allows a homosexual union but NO WAY does he support pro-choice.

Roman Catholicism is pro-life, Orthodox (traditional) Judaism is pro-life, Islam is pro-life, Buddhism is pro-life, and some of the conservative Protestant denoms are pro-life.

Actually I need to clarify that statement. Our PP DOES NOT CONDONE homosexual unions. He is merely aware of and tolerates one such union. That does not imply that he approves of it. But no way does he support pro-choice.say what now?
Tolerance is turning a blind eye and that holds guilt.Actually I need to clarify that statement. Our PP DOES NOT CONDONE homosexual unions. He is merely aware of and tolerates one such union. That does not imply that he approves of it. But no way does he support pro-choice.
The author of a previous contribution I replied to stated that ‘homosexual unions were the same as pro-choice’ which I am challenging as wholly incorrect.
Brethren I would argue the very opposite is true: Mt 7:1-2Tolerance is turning a blind eye and that holds guilt.
One thing to consider in defense of HashemEchad’s position is that the Roman Catholic church recognizes abortion as licit and not sinful in two instances. One, natural abortion - miscarriage. And two - an abortion that occurs as the unplanned and unintended byproduct of a medical procedure necessary to save the life of the mother. Even if that procedure is known to have an abortifacient side effect. I think the point in play here is abortion as an elective procedure for any reason.HashemEchad,
You have claimed several times now that Orthodox Judaism is prolife. But doesn’t the Talmud explicitly teach that abortion is not only allowable but mandatory if the mother’s life is in danger, right up to the point of birth? Or are you going to tell me that this is just made up by liberal Jews?

Brother, do you hold a PhD in hair-splitting?One thing to consider in defense of HashemEchad’s position is that the Roman Catholic church recognizes abortion as licit and not sinful in two instances. My two cents.
Allowing abortion, for example, is acceptable behavior? We can judge actions against Gospel teachings, not souls or hearts.Brethren I would argue the very opposite is true: Mt 7:1-2

Orthodox Judaism opposes abortion-on-demand, which means abortion is forbidden for convenience, rape, incest, birth defects, etcHashemEchad,

Thanks, but those are not true elective abortions. A miscarriage is an act of nature, and cannot be in the same category as a deliberately planned, elective abortion done by human beings. One thing to consider in defense of HashemEchad’s position is that the Roman Catholic church recognizes abortion as licit and not sinful in two instances. Hair splitting?? In teaching RCIA, I’ve known more than a couple of people (men and women) who truly believed that their miscarriages were a punishment from God for actions of their past life. My concern is with the moral implication of what we call abortion.Brother, do you hold a PhD in hair-splitting?
A miscarriage-abortion is not sinful for the simple reason it is not commissioned or induced so is not admissible evidence of licit recognition of abortion by Catholic Church.
‘Insufficient evidence. Case dismissed’. That is what a judge would say!
