Oh ok, the way some people describe it made it sound very churchy for some reason! Will look into it.
??? I’ve never thought that.
I’m sure Amazon has really cheap used copies. And he’s on the radio as well.

**Dear friend…stop worrying about things that have not even happened yet. **
A lot can happen. He could get transferred to Arizona! You could win the lotto! You could have triplets!
Right. Normally I’m Mrs. Future Orientation, but I would encourage you to have no bigger than a 1-year planning horizon at this point–think just in terms of 1-year apartment lease to 1-year apartment lease. You have enough current problems to keep you busy and the long-term future is uncertain enough that long-term planning is not a good use of your time and energy.

By the way, are there any garden apartments/ground level apartments in your area? If so, that might work for you.

Also, it’s not the worst thing in the world to have to move with small children, even two times in a single calendar year. I wouldn’t do it just for fun, but if you have the opportunity to substantially improve your quality of life, it can be worthwhile.

I agree with the Dave Ramsey recommendations upthread.

The Total Money Makeover book gives you the step-by-step approach, but you’ll get a feel for the emotional tone of the Financial Peace University program if you listen to the radio show. You can listen to as many shows as you want here:

It might be nice to keep you company while you’re playing with the baby.

There are two nearby. One is a crime hotbed (including a child rapist alert this year!!!) and very slummy. Iirc they aren’t even that much less expensive, but the prices are not listed. The other we considered moving to at one point, but we definitely would need a car and that would eat up the difference and then some. Plus they have those old metal radiators and window ac units- not very safe for baby. My husband wants to stay in this building and I’m okay with that. Not to mention deposits and pet fees and application fees and breaking the lease if we move elsewhere.

It might make a lot of sense for you to stay in your current building even with the transfer fee, but I feel like they’re taking advantage.

Success! She only woke at 10:20, 2:15, and 5:15. I didn’t wait until midnight because she ate at that time the night before and I was uncomfortably engorged.

Wonderful news. Keep edging her bedtime later. The the discomfort will work itself out as well. YAY!

I apologize if someone already said this (I didn’t have time to go through the whole thread), but do you guys have some sort of divider set up so she can be in her area without seeing you? Can you set up some white noise (fan, white noise app on phone etc?) In my experience it makes a big difference whether baby sees mama or not.
