I had posted some months back about our daughter Lauren.
She is now 18 years old and about to graduate from high school.
She has been suffering terribly about a year now with anxiety
issues. The OCD issue has been very hard on her and the rest
of us as well. This has also resulted in stomach problems
which she is on medication for.

It is hard to put into words how painful it has been for us to watch
her go through all this. She has been seeing a psychologist
for several months now. She had been making some progress
but lately with graduation approaching, this have taken a turn
for the worse.

Please pray for her and us. Our son and myself also have
some anxiety problems and dealing with this has hightened
our own problems. My husband is already under a great deal
of stress from work along with dealing with this. It affects our
lives in so many ways. I would also appreciate it if you would
pray for my husband to find a new job too.

Thank you so much, God bless you!

Donna I will pray for you, Lauren, your son, and your husband in daily Mass.

Jesus, You wish to give us Your peace.
Donna’s daughter and the family, suffer great distress as consequence of illness and anxiety. Please be merciful.
Please give peace to each member of Donna’s family.
Heal them with both coping strategies and with the grace of Your peace that the world cannot give them.

Jesus, will You also aid Donna’s husband in finding a more suitable job.

Thank You, Trishie

My heart goes out to your family. Parying very hard to St. Dymphna. OCD/anxiety problems are awful, we have some in our family with them.

Dear Lord, we present Donna’s family to You, and ask for Your loving assistance in their lives. Lord, they have suffered so much. Please remove this pain from this whole family, that may dedicate themselves wholly to Your service. In Jesus name we pray.

I suffer from anxiety myself. I offer prayers of empathy that the right medication be found to help her and that the Blessed Mother intercede for her while she is out of sorts.

Keeping you all in prayer and asking the intercession of
St. Dymphna, Our Blessed Mother Mary and St. Joseph (the worker). :signofcross:

Will keep her in prayer for sure.

There are a few other parents here with the exact same prayer intention for their children also.

My 12 yr old is suffering both OCD and anxiety as well. It is hard to watch our kids suffer.

Fr. Serpa said that those with such issues are closer to God for their suffering, though they may not see it, so their prayers are powerful.

I have altered St. Augustine’s night time prayer just a little bit for these situations:

Watch and send Your Spirit to comfort, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight,
and give Your Angels and Saints charge over those who
suffer.
Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest Your weary ones,
Bless the ones closest to Your heart,
Soothe Your suffering ones,
pity Your afflicted ones,
Give strength to their loved ones,
and teach them the skills to cope,
And all for Your love’s sake.

Amen.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. As far as medication
is concerned, we haven’t done that for a couple of reasons.
The main one being part of her problem is being afraid of
problems, side effects of drugs. Since she is on the medication
for her stomach already she will not take any other drug
at all, whether it be for a headache or anything.

Praying for your intentions…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hey Donna,
I’m praying for Lauren and your entire family now.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Donna -
After an attempted break-in to my house many years ago (I was an adult), I found myself becoming OCD (locks, stove, then handwashing, etc. ever-changing) And I’m scrupulous - so, I know the drill. But I can’t possibly imagine the difficulty of being a parent watching a child undergoing this.

For Donna’s daughter, that she be relieved of this Cross - for a Cross it is - that God will give her peace, Our Lady intercede for her, Jesus carry her - and to St. Dymphna, Patroness of disorders which I think OCD would fall under - I pray today. And for Donna’s family, supporting her while suffering watching their daughter struggle, help them, ease their difficulties, please God - I also pray. Amen.

Hello there,

I have fought anxiety all my life. I began winning the battle about 25 years ago when meds were invented to quiet it down.

The doctors office is the solution.

Good luck and God bless your journey

She will be in my prayers for her healing.***

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

God bless you +
