please pray for a friend

There was a couple who made an impact on my life several years ago.

In an indirect way, their example led me to develop a relationship with God. I ended up going through the RCIA program. Sadly, the wife passed away two days ago from pancreatic cancer. The husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer three weeks ago. They are both middle-aged. They have an only child who is in college.

It’s hard to convey the impact they had on my life and faith. I was lucky enough to tell the wife, early in her diagnosis, how they changed my life. Nevertheless, I’ve been crying for days. Please pray for the wife and especially the husband and son who have to deal with their grief and loss. The husband who now has prostate cancer, please pray for him and all the families who are dealing with similar issues.

Oh how I feel your pain…may our Dear God hold you in the palm of his hands especially at this time in your life.

May your deceased friend through God’s mercy be at peace in His embrace, and may her husband and son be comforted and strenghtned by his Holy Spirit. May her husband’s prostate be safely removed and all his cancer be totally rid from his body. May our Lord comfort you, iskra, and keep you faithful and strong. Amen.
