A close family friend has a 20 year old son who has been struggling mightily with various forms of drug addition. He has been in and out of several different types of drug rehab places and was finally expelled from his home by his father for several very good reasons. Dan is a smart young man, but the evil one has a strong hold on him right now, and it is breaking his dear mother’s heart. Dear friends, please join me in prayer for this poor lost soul, Dan, for his family, and especially for his dear loving mother who is the heart of the family.

Loving God,

We know that your love for us is unconditional, that your mercy is endless, and that your great desire is for each of your children to be with you in this world and the next. Please hear the intentions and prayers of your people for your troubled son Dan and his family. Please grant Dan the strength of will and the intervention of trained professionals to help him deal with this scourge and devastating addiction that is stealing his youth, his health, the love of some of his family, the lost of many friendships, and is taking him further and further from You, dear Lord. Please bless his mother and his entire family and hear their prayers and petitions for Dan. Please give his mother strength, courage, strong faith, and hope in You and Your divine providence, dear Lord.

Jesus please flood Your graces on Dan and his family. Please resolve all that needs to be resolved

Through your Son you promised that anything asked in his name, in accordance with your will would be granted. Your Scriptures say you desire the death of no one. The Apostle Paul spoke of the Apostolic mission as one to bring about the obedience of faith. Jesus spoke of our need to abide in him and that through this our joy would be complete. Father, all on this thread are storming your throne in humility because you have been so gracious to us who have not in any way been deserving of your favor. We see a brother lying in the ditch much like the Samaritan who came along after others passed by on the other side of the road. We are unable to pick him up ourselves and take him to a place of refuge and healing, but you are. This is your will as your Scriptures attest. Please we beg of you, crush whatever is left of Dan’s arrogance in thinking his way is better than yours and then begin the process of healing him body, mind, and soul. Make of him an instrument of your love like you did the Apostle Paul whom you turned from persecuting your Church to being its strongest advocate. Grant him the desire to live, to live for you, to love himself as you love him, and to love all as you love us. Please also grant hope and peace to Dan’s mother and his family who suffer from watching him hurt himself, who suffer from what he has done to them, and who most greatly suffer from what surely feels like the loss of their son. We ask this through him who was, who is, and who will ever be the greatest healer the world has ever known, the hope of the resurrection, the Prince of peace, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
