Please pray for my former dentist, who is 44 and has Parkinson’s which has evidently advanced enough that he can no longer practice. His staff tell me that about the time he got the diagnosis, his mother died, and just recently, his father died. His brother is many states away, and during this time frame, he and his wife, who have 3 young children, divorced. He was never a personal friend, but he was always very polite and competent. From other details shared, he seems to be depressed, which I wouldn’t doubt. His name is Byron.

Praying for Byron’s health & recovery.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I think that ‘God Bless you’ is rather an odd statement to be making considering that this poor man’s life has effectively crumbled before his eyes.
From other details shared, he seems to be depressed
Wouldn’t you be depressed in his situation? And perhaps it is already too late to be thinking about prayers. The damage has already been done. It is a bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Please don’t roll out the usual cr*p about this being part of some ‘plan’. It is NOT. It is called LIFE, and it can be cruel and horrible.

Best wishes,
Padster

Almighty God: who, in the person of the son Jesus, healed the man ‘sick of the palsy,’ look with favor on Byron and all others afflicted with Parkinson’s. Grant him tranquility and relief from his sufferings. Help him find a new direction for his life and ease his depression. May the Holy Spirit guide the hands and minds of researchers in their quest for the cause and cure of Parkinson’s Disease.

Amen

Hi Padster:

I meant no criticism about his reportedly being depressed – I would likely be as well. I don’t think it is ever too late for prayers. We can pray for physical healing, but we know that most people are not miraculously healed, at least physically. More importantly, we can pray that someone in this situation be given the grace to cope as best he can. We can pray that there might be a marital reconciliation. We can pray that he be able to seek the best treatment possible. We can pray that he may find someone to talk to, if he doesn’t already. We can pray that he has or can get supportive friends. We can pray that if he does not already have a strong spiritual walk, he can obtain one.

I was very unhappy to hear this set of news, and wouldn’t wish his circumstances on anyone.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning is now and forever shall be world without end, Amen.

I apologise for my rash and ill-conceived comments. I for one should know that healing is possible.
