Please pray for a young woman near death

Another update on K:

She continues to improve, albeit somewhat slowly, but there is nevertheless continued improvement. She was having coughing spells which helped her expel fluid lingering from the pneumonia, especially when she would talk for a prolonged time on the phone with her husband to be.

She’s got a lot going on; adjusting to a new kidney, recovering from surgery, recovering from pneumonia, and cancer. She says she feels like she’s been in a boxing ring and every time she gets up she gets knocked back down again. Still, even with all of that, she seems to be getting better.

Her coughing is now less than it was and she is more vigorous, which includes sounding better and talking on the phone for extended periods of time. Tonight she is going to attempt once more to go through the night without the aid of a ventilator.

She is scheduled for her first localized chemo on Tuesday. If the first treatment works, she won’t need more, but if it doesn’t, then of course the treatments will need to be repeated.

Let us pray then that the first treatment is successful.

I and K’s family thank you for all of your prayers. I will continue to remember you in my prayers, although unfortunately I was distracted and forgot to do that during Christmas Mass (I was too taken up with seating arrangements, click on Re: A very odd Christmas Mass Experience post #26 for a further explanation.)

Time for another update and prayer continuation request:

K spoke to her fiance tonight. She’s very tired after her first treatment, and she’s due for another tomorrow. I don’t quite understand doing them in succession without seeing what the results are, but that’s how it’s being done.

Anyway, she’s all the way off of the breathing machine, so that’s good.

Please keep praying for K, her brother, and her fiance. I will keep you in my prayers as well.

Update: I said before that I was puzzled that she was getting more than one chemo. Apparently, because of the severity of her other problems, her doctors decided to break the one big treatment into several smaller ones. They think that that will be just as good and easier for K to handle. Reports are that she is doing nicely with this easier regimen.

She will have about four to six more weeks of these small chemos, and then she will get bloodwork and other types of scans done at intervals of about three months. After the chemos, she will recuperate at home.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
 
Lord thankyou for the progress K is making and for guiding her doctors to treat her according to Your holy will.I pray she will conitnue to improve in health and that she will be healed fully if this be Your will.Lord please continue to bless K and all who love her and care for her.Thankyou Lord that Pat has brought this to our attention for us to pray together.Thankyou Lord for Your many blessings Amen
