Please pray for an addict facing withdrawals and detox

I’m asking prayers for a young addict who is addicted to prescription pain medication.

He is trying to figure out how to stop, is resistant to joining a group, embarrassed, without hope and surrounded by bad influences.
I have tried to be Jesus to him and show him God’s love, listen, provide support and encouragement, but there are so many trials and obstacles in his path that privately, I don’t know how God can heal him from addiction or help him right now.

His work environment, his own stubbornness and depression, his lack of faith…

Please pray for God to touch this young adult, heal him completely from addiction and to convert his heart. Please pray for God to protect him from bad influences.
Please, please, pray for him to make good and smart choices.

I don’t know how best to love him as a Christian, so I’m praying as hard as I can and trying to encourage him that there is a bright future for him.

Is he going through withdrawals right now? If he is, is he drinking plenty of fluids? Eating little but often? Withdrawal won’t last long. The fear of withdrawal is greater than the withdrawal itself. It took me about a week or so to go through. Alot of sleep was involved. I will be praying for your friend.

Please come to the aid of all facing withdrawals and detox and give them the courage to seek help for their addictions and problems that may be causing the addiction as well.

May their families find support and the comfort of God and friends during difficult times.

Praying that the Lord may draw this person out of his addiction. Also praying that the Lord may grant him suitable guidance and protect him from bad influences.

Thank for you kind words and prayers. This person has stopped using as of Saturday and is in the midst of some pretty real withdrawal symptoms. They are relieved not to be going through this on their own and flushed the rest of their supply.

The work environment is really tough and a high risk situation for relapse because a lot of coworkers use so I’m asking for prayers about it. They’re also open to God right now, and I am trying my best to be Christ to them in my words and actions, so if you could pray that the Holy Spirit would guide me and give me the words to say to lead them to Christ.
