I am newly reconciled fully with the Church; my marriage was blessed in the Church in January of this year and back into my career field after 6 years. God has truly worked miracles in my life! I am consecrating my life to Jesus through Mary and am now losing hope as yesterday I received a phone call that my husband Robert has to go to a renal specialist as he has polycystic kidney disease; the same hereditary condition which has caused the death of his mother and two other family members; it is a very serious issue. I am not as strong in my faith as I should be and am now losing HOPE. I am facing all of this alone and not doing so well. My husband is a Protestant so I have to “appear” strong through all of this but it is really tough. Bob sees the specialist next Wednesday, April 3rd so would appreciate your prayers.

God bless all of you,

Laurie

Laurie I’m sad for you and your husband regarding this painful news.

Our dear Lord, please ensure support for Laurie and her husband Robert as they deal with the shock and ramifications of this diagnosis.

Thank You for bringing Laurie back to the Church before this distressing news, so that she is able to find strength in the Sacraments.

As someone who also comes from a family with hereditary health problems, I do know that in time, various ones of my own family have had diagnoses of different aspects of this, and for each it is sobering and a shock to find themselves also afflicted, as am I myself.
These are facts of our human makeup that we ask grace to accept with hope and trust, and so dear Lord I ask overflowing grace and blessing for Laurie and her husband.
Please console and strengthen them, and ensure the best management and outcomes.
Beloved Lord, help us, help Laurie and Robert, in their natural human grief and fear, and fill them with Your strength and peace.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

I want to THANK all of you for all of your prayers. I am ashamed that I even thought about having a wavering faith during this time as God has blessed me in such an abundant way these past six months through my marriage being blessed in the Church in January, my returning to my career field after six years, and truly devoting myself to my Catholic Faith; something completely NEW to me. As I am now on my last 8 days before my Consecration to Jesus through Mary I have to “grow up” and get rid of all old behaviors holding me back from truly LIVING my Catholic faith. As I am facing a very uncertain prognosis with Bob’s condition on Wednesday, April 3rd, I realize that I am surrounded by the great love and mercy of God through some wonderful, holy, friends here in Lincoln including my two holy Catholic priest mentors here in Lincoln, a dear friend Mary Ann, and some wonderful friends at work. Thank you again as I am very scared to face what awaits but know I must have FAITH and HOPE especially on this Holy Saturday.

Shalom

Laurie

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

St. Michael, the Archangel! Glorious Prince, chief and champion of the heavenly hosts; guardian of the souls of men; conqueror of the rebel angels! How beautiful art thou, in thy heaven-made armor. We love thee, dear Prince of Heaven!

We, thy happy clients, yearn to enjoy thy special protection. Obtain for us from God a share of thy sturdy courage; pray that we may have a strong and tender love for our Redeemer and, in every danger or temptation, be invincible against the enemy of our souls. O standard-bearer of our salvation! Be with us in our last moments and when our souls quit this earthly exile, carry them safely to the judgement seat of Christ, and may Our Lord and Master bid thee bear us speedily to the kingdom of eternal bliss. Teach us ever to repeat the sublime cry: “Who is like unto God?” Amen.
