Hello everyone. I have a new friend named Cary. Her, her family, and her boyfriend all go to a local Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church. Every time I bring up the fact that I am Catholic, they seem to turn their heads and look the other way and give their family members or friends a weird look. I know that this church indoctrinates their parishioners with anti-Catholic teachings as I used to go there. So, if you all could please pray for them, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, any advice you can offer about how to handle this situation would be appreciated. I continue to be nice to them regardless of how they may treat my religion and faith. 🙂

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen…

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Praying for your intentions:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless

I will pray for your friend and her family. I had a store manager who was and Independent Fundamentalist Baptist. They have all kinds of strange ideas about Catholicism and all of them negative.

One day in the break reading my Bible and he came by and ask what version it was. When he found out it was a Catholic Bible he thought I was ripe for the picking. Well unlike other Catholics he’d met I was well versed in apologetics.

We debated for years and years sometimes heated but always maintained our friendship. He kept me on my toes, I spent hours researching on the web, reading my Bible and used a lot of ink printing out a lot of things for him to read in the end I dispelled many of the notions he held about Catholicism.

I remember when then movie The Passion came out and he went it saw it. He approached me about it after ward and said he was rather surprised since Mel Gibson was a Catholic that the movie didn’t have a more Catholic slant. I laughed and said “What did you expect the Pope walking by praying the rosary?” He said well I thought it would just have a more Catholic interpretation.
I said there is only the biblical version of Christ’s passion and that is the Catholic version.

You may want to open a separate the thread in the apologetic forum because the prayer request is forum isn’t supposed to be used for advice. I will say they know their bible verses, memorization is very big in their churches. They also don’t believe they are protestants and they’ve been around since the time of Christ. My manager gave me the print out about “The Trail of Blood” which is supposed to trace their church back to Christ’s time. A couple nights scoping out the internet and I was able to refute it. If they question you on something and you don’t know the answer be honest and say “you know that’s something I haven’t studied in depth but I’ll find out and get back with you.”
I’ll check to see if I have any of my stuff still saved on my computer and PM you.

It’s funny the last couple years we actually found ourselves on the same side debating with with our very secular co-workers. He told me he’s learned a lot of about Catholicism from me. 🙂 Right now he’s at another store but we talk every once in a while. We’ve been friends for 15 years.
God Bless.

Keeping Cary and her family and boyfriend in daily prayer…May The Holy Spirit be your guide and inspiration and enter fully into this whole situation…

Praying for you Holly, and your friend Cary, her family and her boyfriend. :gopray:

Thanks to you (and everyone) for the prayers.

Anyway, that is a very interesting story that you gave. I am honesly surprised that this man has not converted to Catholicism yet! 😉 You seem like you would be an excellent apologist. 🙂

Anyway, here is some more information about Carey. She has seizures very bad (I think she has epilepsy) and also she has a hard time understanding things it seems.

Yesterday, I went to her apartment and her and her boyfriend were watching the movie “Scary Movie”. I told them that I did not like that movie and that I used to like it. I then politely left. Later on, I was talking to her boyfriend and I said “Yeah, I don’t like that movie because it promotes immorality.” and he just kind of laughed. He then explained that he likes it because it makes fun of other “scary” movies.

That evening, Carey and I ate pizza together. It was quite nice. But anyway, please continue to pray for both me and Cary and her family. Thank you.

Thank you. I think I once did a Divine Mercy Chaplet Novena for their church but I don’t remember if I ever did the whole novena or just part of it. I think I did finally finish it. 🙂

Hi everyone. I talked to Keri’s (I spelled her name wrong before :o ) mom and she didn’t know if Keri would be able to go to RCIA with me or not. Her mom said that Keri’s dad probably would not let her go. 😦 I don’t know what to do now. 😦

Hi everyone. Could you please continue to pray for this situation?

Hi everyone. Could you all please pray for my new friend and neighbor, Keri? She asked me earlier if we could play an occult game and I declined. She did not realize that the game was witchcraft but I told her that it was and so we didn’t play it. Also, we saw her door moving and the heater was not on and also she saw a dead body in the closet (which wasn’t really there).

I blessed her apartment with holy water and explained to her that only a priest can cure a haunting or possession or whatever. I also prayed the St. Michael the Archangel prayer with her and her friend and boyfriend.

She explained to me that her parent’s house was haunted as well which I don’t know if it is truly haunted or not as she did not go into that much detail. I honestly don’t know if her new apartment is haunted or not either.
