Please pray for Eric and Peter

Please pray for my ex-husband, Eric, who is an alcoholic. He apparently has been drinking hard since the divorce. And a mutual friend asked me for advice. That’s how I found out he’s been on a serious bender. (Though, I did ask him recently when we went out to a movie together. I could smell it.) He’s apparently home, and I’m guessing asleep now. I tried calling and left a message.

In any event, please pray for Eric’s health, sobriety, and mental state. I’m worried, but I know I can’t make him go to AA or rehab. I was living with him/married to him for 14 years and he wouldn’t go then. Why would he go now?

Also, please pray for my uncle Peter. He has cancer and was admitted to the hospital this morning with pneumonia.
 
Will keep them both in my prayers, and include them in my Rosaries.
 
O Eternal Father, we lift Eric and Peter up to you. Send them strengthening graces on their journeys. We hope and pray for all of their physical and spiritual needs at this time, which You, the Holy One, the Almighty One, already know and care about. Help us to grow in trust, that we might witness healing in Eric and Peter’s lives as well as our own. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
 
Our Father Who art in heaven
hallowed be Thy name.
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our tresspasses
as we forgive our tresspassers.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
 
I am praying for them.
May Eric find in God the strength to stay sober and may Peter feel the loving embrace of Mary in this difficult time.
