Hello everyone,

Please pray for my pastor, Fr. B. He’s in the hospital, and it’s serious.

The latest update: Father will be released from the hospital tomorrow, but he’s going back in next week (different hospital) for invasive surgery. Continued prayers would be appreciated.

Please, Lord, watch over my priest in his time of need. :signofcross:

Clarification: Fr. B’s hospital visit next week is to meet the surgeon and schedule his operation. We don’t actually know yet when he will be operated on, only that the situation is fairly urgent so it’ll be sooner rather than later. We’ll find out more on Wednesday.

Father has never had a major illness, nor has he ever had surgery of any kind. Needless to say, he is more than just a little apprehensive. Please pray he may find peace of mind in taking things one step at a time and trusting the medical professionals in whose care he has been placed.

O loving Mother Mary, Mother of Priests, take to your heart your son, Fr. B, who is close to you because of his priestly ordination, and because of the power which he has received to carry on the work of Christ in a world which needs him so much.
Be his comfort, be his joy, be his strength in his time of particular need. Amen. :signofcross:

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.

Prayer Before Surgery

Lord Jesus, help Fr. B as he prepares for this operation.
In Your love, guard and protect him.
Through the skills of the doctors
And the care of everyone else
Bring him back to health and full recovery.

Lord Jesus, I praise You forever and ever. Amen.
