Another update: Jacques is fine now. He smiles frequently, is kind to others and can even be affectionate in some circumstances—the *bise *he gave me today as a New Year’s greeting took me so much by surprise that my knee-jerk reaction was to jump back and scream :blushing:

Thank you again for your abundant prayers Jacques’s challenges still exist but he handles himself better in living with them. Still, continued prayer would be much appreciated as there is always the risk that the situation will take a turn for the worse with little or no warning. Sadly, this risk can never be completely eliminated.
