Loving God,

My friend and long time coworker is suffering from Merkel Cell Carcinoma. We worked together for over 35 years until I retired a little over a year ago. Joe is a great employee, very dedicated, competent, and creative, and is always willing to go the extra mile to help others. Joe is also married and the father of a high school aged son. Joe’s recent doctor visit brought some bad news, his cancer has spread to other parts of his leg and to his thyroid. Lord, we lift up our prayers, petitions, and love to Joe and his family as he continues to receive treatment and to work. Joe is strong and has a good attitude about things, but we ask for your mercy and healing, in accordance with your Holy and perfect will. Please bless Joe, his family, his doctors and medical staff, and all who care for him as we lift Joe up and pray for him and his situation. Your son Jesus has healed more people than we could every count and has great love for each of us. Please send the healing touch of dear Jesus to Joe and comfort him and his family.

We lift our prayers in the name of Jesus, your beloved son, and the Good Shepherd of your people.

Dear Lord, please spare Joe D, let him live much longer for the sake of his loved ones. Please vanish all the cancer cells from his body and give him vigorous health. Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Joe D). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Joe D’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer to St. Anthony for Those With Cancer

Dear St. Anthony, you recognized Our Lord Jesus as the Divine Healer. In your goodness and kindness, please intercede for Joe D who is suffering from cancer. If it is God’s will, may the gift of healing be granted to him. Comfort him during times of unbearable pain, and ask our Lord to grant him peace and patience in suffering. May God give him the fullness of life here on earth. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

When the feeling of alienation arises:

When worn out and weary:

When troubled by impatience and negativity:

When loneliness adds to anxiety:

When sickness makes it difficult to communicate:

When discouragement and despondency sets in:

When fear makes it impossible to face the future:

When the ravages of disease attack self-esteem:

When anger and resentment assail:
