Please pray for Katie

A friend of mine named Katie has been going through a very emotional period, beginning in the past few days. Her fiance is going to have to go to Arizona (I believe) to help his uncle, who’s going through a messy divorce. Unfortunately, he and Katie had already booked the church, the DJ, the banquet hall, had invitations made up, the gown and bridal party dresses, and spent a small fortune on just those details. It put a strain on their relationship almost immediately, because it was too close to their wedding date.

I was at work today and took her purchases at my register. It was then that she related the awful news to me, and showed me her left ring finger; where there had once been a diamond ring, it was now bare. Katie told me that she broke off her engagement, and she had spent the last three days or so crying over this heartbreak. On top of that, her father is in the hospital, so she is worried about him as well.

Please pray for Katie that she will continue to love and support her father, and that he will experience a radical change of heart to live a healthier, Christ-centered life. I also ask that you pray for her to be granted the grace to forgive her ex, and that the Lord will help to heal her broken heart and perhaps point her in another direction, towards a good, holy young Catholic man, if it is His will that it should happen.
 
I am praying the Lord will give Katie strength and direction in her time of need.
 
I am sad for Katie.

Dear Jesus, please grant that “Katie … will continue to love and support her father, and that he will experience a radical change of heart to live a healthier, Christ-centered life.” Please grant her “the grace to forgive her ex, and that the Lord will help to heal her broken heart and perhaps point her in another direction, towards a good, holy young Catholic man, if it is His will that it should happen.”

Jesus, grant that Katie will turn to You in her sadness and need. Please embrace her, and deepen her relationship with You.

Please bless her ex-fiance and help him to re-consider his timing if that is possible, as he left only to support his unhappy and troubled relative whose mental state and need we do not know. Surely it was serious or the fiance wouldn’t have left. Was he concerned that his uncle might come to serious harm if he were not with him?

Jesus, please help the families to get through this disappointment as they support the young people.

Jesus, will You also please help the ex-fiance’s uncle and wife in their “messy divorce”. Lead them to mutual respect and compassion for each other’s needs.

Thank You Jesus. I ask that Your love and compassion prevail in all these relationships…Trishie
 
Dear Lord,
Your beloved child Katie is badly hurting and needs Your help. Lord, help her to look after her father and to find the love she’s looking for. Lord, as sin can lead to sin, and holy example can lead to holy example, we ask You to bring her a good example to help her in this trying time.

Lord, we also pray for her father, and for the efficacy of his doctors and nurses. We pray for her ex fiance’s uncle and his wife, that they may settle their differences and grow in love.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
