Please Pray for Martha!

My dear friend and neighbor Martha is battling lung cancer. She had surgery which the doctors hoped removed most of the cancerous tissue, and has since had a number of chemotherapy sessions in hopes of finishing off any lingering cancer cells.

However, as you probably know, chemo is very, very hard on the body. Among other things, it decreases the immune system–as Martha learned the hard way when she ended up in the hospital with a very nasty infection. (Thankfully she has now recovered from that.)

Her doctors have decided to give her an indefinite break from the chemo sessions, and I think Martha is relieved–she still feels pretty weak and tired, and she desperately needs to regain her strength so she can continue this battle.

Martha is a wonderful, loving person, mother to a son and daughter who love her dearly, not to mention 5 sisters and a brother!! Plus lots of friends–including my mother and me! And two beautiful little cats who adore her!

Please, join me in praying for Martha’s healing, and for her peace of mind. She has always been very healthy and active, so this is doubly hard for her–she isn’t used to being sick and cooped up in the house and running to endless doctors’ appointments! She has been depressed, which isn’t like her either–not that I blame her after all she’s been through. She needs a break!!
