Please pray for me and my wife

First let me state that I feel guilty for even requesting my prayer need, as so many others have much greater needs than mine.

The need that I have has started to have a negative effect on me, as well as the overall demeanor and life of my wife, and we currently feel so lost that we would greatly appreciate it if you would include us in your prayers.

A little over a year ago we decided it would be best if we moved off a family farm in order to live our own lives. Everything was great at first, however, within a couple of months we started buying updates to the house in an attempt to make it feel like home. Most of this expense went on credit cards. In addition to the increased payment amount with our new mortgage, the credit card payment increased. This is really started to have an effect on our finances, which in turn is causing me to have extreme anxiety as I feel as though I need to be doing more to take care of our problem.

We have decided to sell our home and try to find something more in our comfort zone. I pray that we can find a buyer for our home, which in turn would give us enough money to pay off some of the credit card debt; as well as get out from under a mortgage payment that we are not comfortable with. We are also facing a larger than expected tax bill, as well as a medical bill, that will cause us additional hardship.

You mention you own home, you have large medical bills, and have made updates/improvements? to the house. You might want to check with a tax advisor and see if these qualify as deductions that would lower your tax bills and possibly bring a refund from state and federal governments that might help you relieve you debt situation.

Just a thought.

First, I want to thank you for taking the time to respond.

I have checked on both of those (the medical bills and the improvements/updates), both are short of what is needed to qualify for help. While they are not enough to qualify, the cost greatly affects us, since our budget is stretched to the max already.
