Hello~

Some of you know that I have had significant mental health issues in the past. I have had counseling and been on medication for severe depression. Well, it seems the depression is back after an all too brief hiatus. I have spent the better part of my week now trying to find a good psych who accepts my insurance and who is taking new patients. One doctor I’ve called and left messages for at least 6 times. He has called back and left me messages in return, but he hasn’t given me the office number where I can actually call and make an appointment. A different doctor I called today, returned my call, only to inform me that he no longer accepted my insurance because the insurance company was slow to pay. (Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield.) I find this all very frustrating and demoralizing.

I know I need to get help; my roommate, (she’s like a sister to me and she and her granddaughter live with me,) has threatened to leave if I don’t. She’s really the only close friend I have at the moment and I would be devastated if she and her granddaughter left because of this.

Please pray for me…I’m trying really hard not to cry right now because I’m at work and that wouldn’t be too good, but I just feel so defeated and lost and alone in all this!

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

O loving Mother of our Redeemer, gate of heaven, star of the sea,
Hasten to aid thy fallen people who strive to rise once more.
Thou who brought forth thy holy Creator, all creation wond’ring,
Yet remainest ever Virgin, taking from Gabriel’s lips
that joyful “Hail!”: be merciful to us sinners.

DANG! ** Aw…that’s** AWFUL! ** I’m so sorry about this, that you’re trying SO hard to get help, and things are not coming through right.

Do you have an AltaPointe near you? I know they used to accept different kinds of health insurances, not exactly sure which ones. Could you check with them? If they say they’re not accepting patients, ask them who is.

Sometimes, there might yet be other places who might consider one on a sliding scale, according to one’s income and resources.

One could ask the insurance company which mental health organizations they cover.

Your calling the doctor 6 times reminds me a little of Mexico! I know it was getting that way, as well, in the US, last time I was there! I remember that was a new movement, that they might not even return your calls any more, that you have to catch them, there.

Can you drive in to the office, make the appointment? I realize it shouldn´t be that way, but that seems to be what’s been happening of late, all over in the US, as well.

Here, in Mexico, we do almost everything,…in person. It might be worth it to get the appointment, and all this resolved and behind you.

I believe there ARE options, but because you’re upset now, you might have a harder time seeing them.

I don’t know if this will help, but I remember my mother telling me to put my life in God’s hands, to try to trust him. It seemed to work for her!

Anyway…good luck, and God bless you! 👍

Praying to St. Dymphna for your health & recovery as well as all your intentions.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon TheLeastofThese in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

I will pray for you and suggest that you look in the phone book and call the nearest NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Iil). 714-544-8488, is its number on the website, and ask them for help in locating a good doctor and psych. They are there for you, and are very good at understanding you. You might need a patient navigator, someone who can help you while you are struggling.

Remember: much of what this is is chemical…you can’t be blamed for it, your body just runs down. Read “The mood Cure” after you get immediate help. It might help you in the future to prevent such depletions. We are just beginning to learn more about depression, anxiety and other illnesses that affect our mind and mood.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Know that you are loved, even when your body slips into depression. Pay more attention to getting help that to listening to the drones of your depressed mind. Focus on help right now. Just that one thing. Ask for help and don’t give up until you get it.

I will definitely have you in my prayers, one think I hope you do, is thank your friends with a big hug for being so patient and careing about you, I hope everything works out for you

Praying for you to get help!

You are in my heart and prayers!!

Have you considered checking your local Catholic Charities / Catholic Social Services office? Ours has psychologists AND Psychiatrists available and they accept most insurance. Just another route to consider.

Praying Almighty to give you all the strength required to prosper in your life.

Hi Everyone~

I just wanted to update everyone who was kind enough to keep me in their prayers for this intention.

I finally was able to connect with the doctor and I have an appointment today! WOOHOO!!! :dancing:

Now I’m praying God to give me the courage to be totally honest with the doctor and be able to articulate my needs and that he’ll prescribe the medication I know helps…:gopray2:

More prayers…

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory be to the Father…
