Please pray for me - Lonely and depressed

I have been feeling desperately depressed lately. I am filled with feelings of sadness and emptiness and complete isolation. I have nobody I can turn to, as I have no friends at all. I want to turn to God, but He has been seeming very distant and unreal to me. I am very much in need of your prayers. Please pray for me.
 
Royalblue, depression is a very difficult cross to bear. Please know that I am praying for you!
 
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

I hope you feel better soon Royalblue. You have friends here and God is always with us. Just listen in silence and you’ll soon sense His presence and hear his voice.

Lord, you know what your child is experiencing…you see the sadness and emptiness…you wait with arms outstretched to comfort and console and to make your child whole again…Jesus, I pray that your child will receive confirmation of your presence, even in the midst of the emptiness and that your Holy Spirit will enlighten and console…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

I understand all too well how you feel, my friend. Feel free to pm me anytime. I’m even making a novena to St Padre Pio to rid myself of depression and anxiety.

As I said to another person who was feeling the same way a while ago, ask Jesus and our Blessed Mother for “hugs” when you get down. I find that works for me a lot.

We are sisters and brothers in You. Help the lonely to find the other lonely people to find reassurance and company Lord.
And help this dear person to find wholesome companionship where interests and laughter can be shared. Please give them experience of Your love in each other’s company.
 
We will be your friends. You are not alone. I know firsthand about the depths of depression and want you to know that many here are praying for you and are here to talk to you on this forum. Know that you will not always have this problem. Offer up all the pain for sins, and ask Jesus to help you get through every minute. You might not “feel” His presence, but you can still believe that He is holding you up and with you every second (truth!)

Lord Jesus, I pray for royalblue who is very sad, lonely, and depressed. May angels of comfort surround royalblue. I pray for this depression to leave royalblue. Please help royalblue to know you are with him/her through every moment of this.
 
I will keep you in my prayers. I battle feelings of loneliness and depression too. Please know you have lots of people praying for your intentions here.

Also, please seek medical advice for your depression if your feelings are ongoing. We can pray for your spiritual needs but a doctor can provide the best advice on handling the physical impact of depression.

Dear royalblue, I know what you’re going through and it’s very tough, just hang in there, one baby step at a time. I’m praying for you.🙂 What exactly is bothering you? Would you like to talk?

Dear Father in Heaven, I haven’t experienced what royalblue is going through now for about 35 years but it was so devestating that I will never forget what it is like to feel like that, I beg of you send your Holy Spirit to her and a healing load of your graces, so that she will be comforted and healed and be able to get on with things without being dragged down by these feelings of loneliness and depression. I pray this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who trod this earth like we do. Amen.
