Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from

the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Katherine438). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by

speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.

You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from

the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Katherine438’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

UPDATE: Surgeon just called … the CT Scan showed no evidence that the cancer spread … and the tumor on the scan even looks smaller than what was noted on the ultrasound. Now for a big decision … do I let this surgeon perform the operation on the 4th of November, or do I wait to go to Sloan Kettering on October 19 and probably not have the surgery until November 19? Sloan’s pathology department would be better, the surgeon would probably be better and the aftercare would definitely be better.

That is good news Katherine, thanks be to God! I will pray that you an come to a decision about what to do.

So far everyone is saying go to Sloan Kettering … I just spoke to a nurse at Sloan and she said that no other hospital has their resources … so I guess the decision is made.

I pray that you will make the right decision.

Well, Sloan is the name that always comes to mind…at least for me it does. So maybe you should go with your gut, and we will keep praying for you!

I too celebrate in your positive news. I pray that our Heavenly Father continues to uplift you, and guides you and the medical professionals…

Praise God for his victories. May God continue to give you comfort in your recovery and bring you through this trying time, in Jesus Name.

That’s great! Praying for continued good news, treatment and recovery!

Lord, we lift Katherine up in prayer today.

Lord, our God, You sent Your Son into the world to bear our infirmities and to endure our sufferings. For Your servants who are sick, we ask that Your blessing will give them strength
to overcome their weakness through the power of patience and the comfort of hope and that with Your aid they will soon be restored to health. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
🙏

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake,
or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest Your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. Soothe Your suffering ones. Pity Your afflicted ones. Shield Your joyous ones, and all for Your loves sake.
Amen.
🙏

Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness.

O dearest comforter of the troubled,
alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden.

Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again.

Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us.
Amen.
🙏

Tomorrow is the parathyroid surgery … I’m just a little nervous … but the surgery is short and I’m only supposed to stay in the hospital for 4-6 hours afterwards … won’t be able to talk too good after surgery for a week or two … but after that everything should be okay.

don’t know yet … will find out at 3 today and will post.

Edit: Just got a call from the hospital … they went through every single thing about me for an hour on the phone … the only thing they didn’t ask me is if I had breakfast today … LOL … I’m ready for this surgery … I know that I’m going to have to recover for a while because it causes hoarseness and a very bad sore throat … but I’m thinking positive and I will be fine. There are some major side effects that can happen, but I have a great surgeon so I am not expecting those.

I will post in here again when I know the exact time of surgery … they told me they will call me between 2-6 today to tell me that … but I’m thinking it will be early.

I received communion yesterday and the priest is saying a mass for me tomorrow, so I feel confident that I’m ready.

Edit 2: Also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that has been praying for me throughout this entire situation with the parathyroid surgery and the kidney cancer … I said a special rosary for all of you last night in thankfulness … you are great … and I wish all of God’s blessings upon you.

It’s a case of you receiving what you have given to so many others.

I will pray for you tomorrow.
