Please Pray for Me so I Gain the Confidence to Ask a Catholic Girl Out

There’s a faithful Catholic girl at the Newman Club I go to. Also like me she plays music. I admire her for her faith, and I would like to possibly date her. Although I’m 20 years old, I’ve never dated before and I don’t know how to tell a girl I like them.

I was reading the book of Proverbs and a group of verses spoke out to me. I meditated on them a bit and I felt that God was telling me that He’ll give me the confidence to do this.

Please pray for me to gain confidence to tell her I like her and to ask her out. Thanks!

Prayer to St. Anthony for Confidence

Most holy St. Anthony, beloved friend of Jesus,
I place myself in your heavenly care. Be with me,
especially in life’s troubles and difficulties.

Intercede before the Lord for me, so that I may
confidently know I do not face my problems alone.

I’ll pray for you.

If I were there I might do what I did for one of my sons. He was visiting from out of State, " “Mum, there’s this girl. I see at the train station every day. I’m thinking about her all the time…” but he didn’t dare approach her, in case she didn’t feel the same.
“Phone her today. You’ll never know if you don’t try.” He was nervous, but caught my enthusiasm.
When he returned that evening, he had a smile that filled his face and his voice.
“Mum! I’m in a relationship!!! I called her and she said she’s thinking about me all the time too!” He’d found her number an called her. They’ve been married ten years and delight in each other now, as then.

I’m not supposed to give advice, so

Lord, will You please tell Melodeonist, speak to her, ask her out for a …coffee maybe?..
Let her thereby know he’s interested. Tell him not to worry about what to say himself. Ask her about herself and listen with care and interest. Take a chance and give her the chance…because otherwise you may both miss out on something very special and even sacred."

Praying that you get the confidence and courage to just simply ask her out without overthinking the issue and missing the opportunity.
