Praying and caring for you.

Memorare

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Rebuking Particular Spirits

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints and Angels of Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of His name, I ask of the heavenly Father to rebuke this spirit of depression and to command it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to depart from me, now, quietly, without harm to anyone.

I bring the power and the protection of the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ over my life. Satan has no part with me as I am sealed with the saving blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for not being all I should be in Your eyes. Let the cleansing, healing waters of my baptism wash over me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

Lord Jesus Christ, fill me with Your joy to replace the depression.

Lord Jesus, bring to bear my guardian angel, and all the angels of heaven, against the forces of evil that seek to cause trouble for me.

Saint Michael, be my protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and my Mother, pray for me that I may not fall into the devil’s temptations.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for setting me free. I praise You, I bless You, I worship You. Thank You for the wisdom and light of the Holy Spirit.

Thank You for enabling me to be aggressive against the works of the enemy. Thank You for Your hope that takes away discouragement; thank You for ongoing victory. “…in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Rom. 8:37). Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as
we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is
the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
thrust down to hell satan and all the wicked spirits,
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession and was left forsaken. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my words, O Mother of the Word, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

God the Father of Heaven,
Have mercy on us.

God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
Have mercy on us.

God the Holy Spirit,
Have mercy on us.

Holy Trinity, One God,
Have mercy on us.

Holy Mary, Queen of Angels, pray for us.

Dear Virga, My love goes out to you, and I’m glad that you have finally reached the point where you can indeed ask for prayers and help. You don’t know what God has in store for you when you overcome and are triumphant. His love for you and the beauty of his presence that will surround you will give you joy and comfort. It will wipe away your tears.

Please, dear, just don’t give in to the temptations of the power of darkness. God gave you life as a gift. He wants you to be with Him for eternity. He loves you. Please try this if you can do nothing else: Every single day, ask God to show you the way through Jesus Christ. I once lived a sinful life and I would ask that before going to sleep every day, and He did show me the way.

May we all see you in Heaven one day and give you a big hug. You matter, and if I heard you chose suicide, I would hurt even though I don’t know you.

I have been having regular thoughts of suicide for years, but the past few months have been especially bad. I made plans and even bought supplies, but that was about 3 months ago. I have been seeing a therapist for over a year now.

Some days I feel like I can’t go on.
My prayer life has been almost non-existent. I have given in to temptation numerous times and despair frequently. My depression has left me feeling unable to do anything, and I find it very difficult to deal with human interaction. I stay inside almost all the time and have little contact with people other than my family. I couldn’t even bare to look at online forums until recently or look at anything related to people in general.

I believe the Lord is giving me strength in simply asking for prayers. Please pray for me and my family as well. God bless.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
You need to pray even if you feel like you can’t, in fact, I have an article you can read and prayer you can pray that I believe will be beneficial to you. As per the catechism:
  1. Prayer is both a gift of grace and a determined response on our part. It always presupposes effort. The great figures of prayer of the Old Covenant before Christ, as well as the Mother of God, the saints, and he himself, all teach us this: prayer is a battle. Against whom? Against ourselves and against the wiles of the temper who does all he can to turn man away from prayer, away from a union with God. We pray as we live, because we live as we pray. If we do not want to act habitually according to the Spirit of Christ, neither can we pray habitually in his name. The “spiritual battle” of the Christian’s new life is inseparable from the battle of prayer.
Here’s a prayer that I pray when I’m feeling really low or oppressed by fearful thoughts:
To help resist temptations against prayer, I offer a personal prayer of protection that has been approved for use by laity. It is printed in The Manual of Minor Exorcisms compiled by Bishop Julian Porteous. It has proven effective against temptations and for inner healing especially when prayed ardently before the Blessed Sacrament in union with Mary and your guardian angel:
**Heavenly Father, I praise and thank you for all you have given me. Please cover me with the protective, precious blood of your Son, Jesus Christ, and increase your Holy Spirit in me with His gifts of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, hunger for prayer, guidance and discernment to help me know your will and surrender to it more completely.
Father, please heal my negative emotions and any wounds in my heart and spirit. Send the sword of your Holy Spirit to sever and break all spells, curses, hexes, voodoo and all negative genetic, inter-generational and addictive material, past, present or to come, known or unknown, against me, my relationships and family, finances, possessions and ministry.
Father, I forgive and I ask forgiveness for my sins and failings and I ask that my whole person, body and mind, heart and will, soul and spirit, memory and emotions, attitudes and values lie cleansed, renewed and protected by the most precious blood of your Son Jesus**.

I’m praying for you, Virga, things will get better, trust the Lord.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Guardian Angel,
watch over the Lord’s servant Virga.
Guard over them with every care
and make their way easy and their labors fruitful.
Dry their tears if they weep;
sanctify their joys;
raise their courage if they weaken;
restore their hop if they lose heart,
their health if they be ill,
truth if they err,
repentance if they fail.
Amen.

May Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend you in this battle.
May you find strength and comfort in the Presence of the Holy Eucharist.
Amen.

So great for you to reach out to us Virga. I will certainly pray for you 🙂
I’m not sure whether you have given much thought to it, but after years of suffering with eating disorders and severe depression, and the subsequent therapies, medication etc, I eventually found my way to a highly qualified Naturopath who was able to explain to me the deep physiological roots of depression, and how when the mind is sick and out of balance, the body is sick and out of balance first. The mind/brain does not operate independently of the body, but it is one synergistic unit, and needs to be treated as thus. By taking medication (although helpful and even necessary in some short term situations), it ultimately operates as a bandaid approach and does not address the underlying causes of our depression. Therapy also, whilst beneficial of it’s own accord, does not address the underlying cause of these imbalances, which are largely due to a factors such as toxic overload, imbalances in the body’s ph (acid/alkaline levels), heavy metal accumulation etc. This is not to disqualify additional environmental and emotional stressors such as stress and trauma, which put additional strain on the bodies organs and weaken their capacity to function over time.
Spiritually speaking, I can relate to your inability to pray because of that sense of hopelessness and mental anguish. It just feels like you are trapped in a bubble sometimes and nothing is ‘real’ sometimes - hard to understand for those who have not been there! Also, the soul (spiritual body) is undoubtedly linked to our physical body, and through my experiences it is my understanding that the spiritual body thrives when the physical body is in order. This is not to discount the value of physical suffering which can have redemptive purposes. Although I do not believe that depression comes under that category of suffering.
I cannot urge you enough, because this literally saved my life, but please find yourself a qualified Naturopath whom you bond well with, and have the various diagnostic tests done. At the insistence of my Naturopath, I had my heavy metal levels tested (via hair mineral analysis which was sent to a lab), and I was shocked by the results. My levels of mercury, lead, cadmium etc were off the charts! My Naturopath said she was accustomed to seeing this in depressed clients, as well as children who suffered with ADHD, autism etc. I followed to the letter all the dietary and supplemental additions she gave me - some of which were designed to remove or ‘chelate’ as they call it, the toxic elements from my body and brain.
I also recommend you read the GAPS book by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, MD. She is qualified in the fields of Neurology and Nutritional Medicine. Her book was a mind blower for me - not anything you will hear from a conventional doctor, and since recommending it others - I have observed it change the lives of many people I know for the better. God had led you here to this forum, and I pray He continues to guide you on this journey to wellness. Please don’t give up hope. You are in my prayers!!!
