Dearest Gigglin4God,

Sweetheart, take this advice from someone who knows. I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks since I was 12. Please, go talk to your priest. He can assess what is happening to you and suggest other things or people that may help. Going through nights as you do is not good for your overall health and is only going to hurt your mental health further. Please, I suffered silently for so long, until I sought help. I found no help with psychiatrists, but did find help with a low dose of Zoloft, as I was diagnosed with OCD…which was real obvious once I realized it. I used to brag that you could eat off of my toilet, my house was so clean…uh…hello…obviously there was an underlying reason for my compulsions…and one of my problems was worrying…and panic attacks…which would come at any time, anywhere…honey, I beg you…prayers and novena and tapes are all wonderful tools, but you need an outside source for help. Honest, I know…I suffered for 15 years…and only sought help after the birth of my baby…I went into a terrible post partum depression…God wants to help you and he has many priests and Catholic professionals who can help. Please, do not be afraid of medication, even if it is only for a little while…just to allow you some much needed rest and time to begin to heal. Sweetheart, I hear the pain and anguish in your voice…I have been there…it is no way to be. Please call your local pastor or a friend that can help you get to a knowing and caring professional. Know that your friends here are always here for you and will help you all that we can…but you really shouldn’t try to continue on your own…there is someone out there who can love and help and comfort you.
I am praying for you.
In Christ,
Kathleen

Thank you for all of your advice but you see… I am terrified of doctors. In the year 2001, I started having these anxiety attacks really bad and suffered from depression. I went to one doctor after another and there were 4 of them to be exact. They didnt care a lick about me. All they wanted to do is over-medicate me to the point that I almost died. I was in and out of a psychiatric ward in Houston twice in a months time. Time one was for a week and time two was two weeks. I went to an MHMR clinic and the doctor there looked at me and all the meds I was on and said. My God, child they are trying to kill you. If I had been on all of them meds another month or less I wouldnt be here. Then on that day in September of 2002, I had to go through the worst hell of my life when he took me off of everything cold turkey. He put me on Prozac and only allowed me to take that and Trazodone at night to sleep. Then he tried me on Buspar and that made my tremors in my hands worse and made me feel even worse than I did. I am very leery and afraid of doctors for that reason. I just take my Prozac in the morning and that is it. Nothing else for my mental state.
As far as talking to my priest, I am kind of nervous to do that because he is an elderly man who is 75 years young. I feel that he doesnt have the compassion to help me through this. I have had a friend of mine recommend going to NA meetings with her because she is a former addict of illegal drugs and she said that it has caused her to become so much more happier of a person and she doesnt have depression or anxiety any more. I dont know if this step will work for me though because what works for one doesnt work for others.
In a way I am kind of feeling that it is hormones raging wild and causing all of this trouble. I just dont know. I keep telling myself to not tell God how big my anxiety attacks are to tell my anxiety attacks how much bigger God is.
Maybe too it is due to alot going on in my life, In February, I lost my mother in law whom I loved dearly as well as my great aunt and then a friend of mine who I chat with had us all scared with his illness in England.
This afternoon I made my husband promise me that no matter how bad my attacks got that he would not send me back to the hospital in Houston again. He said that he wouldnt because he doesnt want to see me go through over medication and then having to see me go through detox from all of the meds the docs had me on there. There were 11 of them.

I just dont know where else to look besides up to see what God’s Will is for me in this situation.
I am sorry to have rambled on but it just feels good to get this out and talk about it with those who understand.

God Bless you, Mary Keep you, Love you my CAF Family. Signed forever Gigglin.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Jesus, Mary I love you, Save Souls. Jesus I trust in You!

Dearest Gigglin,

Yes, it does sound like you have had a hard time with the doctors that treated you. As a nurse, let me give you some suggestions.
  1. Find a priest that is younger and may be able to understand your problem.
  2. Find a doctor whom you can be honest and open with. State before any prescriptions are written that you have had terrible experiences with certain medications and that you will not go on large amounts of psychotropic drugs. Or, find a mental health worker at a clinic who will listen to you and help you work out your problems. If you are going through hormonal problems, seek the advice of an Endocrinologist, or Gynecologist that specializes in treated women during menopause and the like.
    Dearest Georgia,
You had a bad experience, but there are as many ways to treat anxiety as there are doctors. Please do not allow yourself to continue on this path…I would have good times and bad times, but Zoloft TRULY gave me back my life. My friend and physician was 85 years old when she passed away last November. She did not understand my need for the Zoloft, but she wrote my prescription for it anyway. You can find the doctor that will be right for you. He or She is out there. Pray for God’s help in finding the right doctor. Let your husband know that you do need help, but have him pray as well. Have him be your advocate. When I had my baby, they put me on some sort of medication that caused a reaction and my husband was right there, telling the doctors to take me off of the medication and they did, right then and there. Within hours I was much better. I ended up on a small dose of Ativan which I slowly weaned off of. The doctors should have never taken you off those drugs cold turkey.
Dear Heart, please, know that God is there, and will help you find the help you need. We are all praying for you. You will get better. It may be that you need a small dose of estrogen to get you through the change…I promise you, if you cautiously go looking for the right doctor, you will find him or her.
I know that when I get to feeling upset or anxious, I get down on my knees and pray the Rosary. It is like a wonderful hug from our blessed mother. I truly feel as if she is with me, holding me and telling me that it will be alright. Georgia, you have so many beautiful and spiritual people praying for you. Know that we are here and that we truly care what is happening to you. Unfortunately we can not be physically by your side, and I implore you to find professional help. There is someone out there who will help you and not expect you to take loads of medications. A doctor that loads you up with medication is being overly empthathetic or lazy, one or the other. You take your husband by the hand and let him help you find the right professional. Let him be your strength for now. Let God and your husband help you.
Fear is our worst enemy in all of this. I understand why you are fearful, but please have the strength and trust to allow God to lead you to the right help.
I will pray a Rosary for you tonight and keep you in my prayers always.
    In Christ,
    Kathleen

Dear God. Please help Gigglin4God in her struggles. I know the pain of anxiety attacks but was fortunate to find a doctor to help me. The worst event was in a Supermarket when one occured and the paramedics were called. God, this is a very very serious condition…please help her find the right doctor and guide her to the right sources. Please, God, she needs your help…

I am sorry to say that I have seen something on the internet today that has really set them off big time. I am so afraid tonight. I have been crying. I just wish that someone could tell me if this is just a mean internet joke or not. But I got this in my email this morning and it really has upset me terribly today. I hope that it is ok to send urls here but I have to show you what has gotten me so uneasy.

Please just someone tell me if this will really happen to all of us who live in the USA. Thank you,. NotsoGigglin4God right now. 😦
I watched the video and it is indeed frightening, and may happen. But regardless, being worried and frightened serves no good purpose.

We really do not know what God has in store for us.

We must pray and be ready to accept His will.

I will pray that your anxiety becomes manageable and for mercy for the whole world:gopray:

Dear Georgia,

Please do not waste your energy on this news item. You need to worry about finding help for your anxiety. Try to watch light and funny things on TV and the internet for now. Allow your mind to rest. Please find someone you can talk to and who will help you get the help you need. You have a problem that can be helped, it is just a matter of taking that first step. As Pope John Paul II said “Be not afraid”. We are all praying for you and you are praying as well. Believe in the positive power of prayer and know that there is someone out there that can help you. God Bless you, dear one.
In Christ’s Peace

Dearest Georgia,

As you can see, you are surrounded by beautiful and Godly folks that care about you and will pray for your healing. I feel The Holy Spirit is guiding me to write one more time to you before I turn in, and prayerfully you are able to find peace tonight and can get a good rest. Please know that you are loved and cared for and only want the best for you. There is a Godly Doctor and caring Priest where you live that will help you through your hard time. May God hold you gently in his arms tonight, while you slumber. May Mother Mary hold your hand and stay with you through the night. Know that tomorrow is a new day and you are just a phone call away from finding that special someone who will help you.
Dear one, God Bless you and your family and let you have rest and peace of mind tonight.
In Christ’s Peace,
Kathleen:hug1:

Please continue to pray for me. I slept good last night and still feel really exhausted. Pray for me to get the strength to get my shower and get ready for Mass this evening. Thank you.

You are in our prayers!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you: The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace” ( Num. 6:24-26)
In Christ,
Kathleen

Thank you. Kathleen, Your words are so encouraging for me. You give me the will to fight on. Please feel free to PM me any time. God Bless you all for praying for my fight. St. Michaels is sure good to help me as well as all the other Saints and Angels who are praying to God, Jesus and the Blessed Mother. Maybe if I can just learn how to put my foot on the devils neck, he wont be able to go anywhere and mess with me. Thank you for the prayers I am so grateful to have a CAF Family like I do. God Bless you, Mary Keep you. Georgia or Gigglin.

Dear Georgia,

I like to keep what Fr. Corapi once said deep in my heart. He was talking about the devil and how when he was going through seminary and was a newly ordained priest, he felt as if the devil was trying to keep him from continuing on his journey. He said that as long as he keeps the Name of Jesus on his lips, he is empowered to fight the good fight. You have the power to keep the bad thoughts away and the devil at bay. Keep your rosary with you…Padre Pio called his rosary his weapon and prayed the rosary constantly…Go talk to your priest, even if he is older, he may be able to help, or find a younger priest to talk to. Maybe the Diocesisan (spelling) office can give you some names of priests that can help. You take care of yourself, remember to be there for others as well…as Fr. Groeschel says, the best thing for us folks that have a tendency toward depression and anxiety, is to help others…maybe take a casserole to someone who is sick, or donate flower seeds to a grammar school in your neighborhood, or keep a holy hour and offer up the prayers for others in our situation. May you have a peaceful night and know that I will be praying my nightly rosary for you again. I will PM you anytime you say…
In Christ’s Peace,
Kathleen

God…Please help Georgia get another good night’s sleep. She is under so much stress right now …bring her peace and keep her safely wrapped in Your love.

Thank you all so much for the prayers and just for being wonderful. It is so nice to know that I have somewhere to go when I need prayers for anything. I went to Mass tonight and Father gave me a blessing to help me get through the mental anguish I am going through. I went to Communion as well. I dont know. I am feeling pretty good and calm for now. Maybe that is all I needed is a “Dose of the Holy Ghost” . Who knows? Only time will tell. Thank you again and please keep praying. I had a much easier day today than what I have had in a long time. I also finished my 9 Day Divine Mercy Novena today during our 3 PM hour. Please,. I am begging you all to keep the prayers coming. Seems like now all of yall got yalls foot on the devils neck and he cant come and get me. Here is a little prayer I say before I go to bed at night that my little adopted internet Aussie brother taught me. 4 corners of my bed, 4 Angels around my head, 1 to watch, 1 to pray , and 2 to bear my soul away. Anyways. Thanks again and keep praying. I feel like they are helping out. God Bless you, Mary Keep you. Georgia or Gigglin. ((hugs)) I just love yall.
