Family issues…so often this is the source of our heartaches and discouragement, heavenly Father. Please embrace Misty in Your merciful love and begin to heal the issues that are causing her so much pain. I ask You this in Jesus’ name.
I don’t know Misty if any of the below applies to your situation, but it happens to be the one I pulled out of my journal written from one of the many times I battled with family worries. Love, Trishie
Family—Body of Christ in miniature
God, You truly love everyone, even those who do not know You, but we only manage to love a few individuals deeply. Perhaps our loved ones are for us, figure of all persons. Our empathy and prayer for the true good of loved ones in their difficulties and sorrows, is perhaps Your avenue of prayer for others who have no inclination or faith to pray.
Because of our eternal destiny in the communion of Saints, individuals on earth are more interrelated than we realise. The particular goodness of each of us is part of the eternal heritage of the entire family. Those who share or enter our lives may do so as part of their salvation and our own.
Sometimes we face radical challenges in our relationships. If there is anyone for whom forgiveness is required, we confide our difficulty to You. We may be confronted with someone’s habitual tendency to be angry, bitter and critical. Intrinsic conflicts may be intensified if either person is unwell or weary, or if additional exposure to the relationship occurs. Such difficulties may indicate that we have issues needing resolution before we can grow to wholeness as members of the Mystical Body of Christ.
Please help us to be caring, understanding, and worthy of this fraternity in Christ. Please heal any lapses in charity. In Your creative love, turn them into blessings.
Many family members remain absent from Church or reject aspects of Catholic/Christian teaching or belief, yet their lives frequently witness genuine gospel love. Therefore, the life of the Mystical Body is at work within their souls. Please grant them fullness of redemption. Through Your Holy Spirit, my spirit prays continually for those I love and for all others. 1997
