I thought I was the only person who felt this way. Although I have many blessings and acknowledge them daily, I feel isolated, alone, and afraid. My anxiety levels are always high and I worry about my children’s future all the time. There are so many pitfalls for young people these days. I pray that God will fill us both with His love and peace. I know that trust is the key to all we desire. So far, no one has been able to tell me how to let God be God. I will just continue to pray. I am getting weary, though. I ask for your prayers also. I’m sorry but I don’t think the priest should have told you to shut up. True there are those with deeper, acute problems but sometimes the chronic and dogging issues that we have are just as harmful and aching to the soul.

Above all, trust in the slow work of God
We are quite naturally impatient in everything to reach tht end without delay.
We should like to skip the intermediate stages.
We are impatient of being on the way to something unknown, something new.
And yet it is the law of progress that it is made by passing through some stages of instability — and that it may take a very long time.
And so I think it is with you.
Your ideas mature gradually — let them grow, let them shape themselves, without undue haste.
Don’t try to force them on, as though you could be today what time (that is to say, grace and circumstances acting on your own good will) will make of you tomorrow.
Only God could say what this new spirit gradually forming with you will be.
Give Our Lord the benefit of believing that his hand is leading you, and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself in suspence and incomplete.
