I love the Catholic Church. I go to the Mary Queen of the Universe Basilica every chance I get and pray in one of the chapels for at least 2 hours. I love Padre Pio, Father Augustus Tolton, the Little Flower, St. Jude, Juan Diego, our Ladys of Guadalupe and Fatima, St. Anthony, St. Faustina, St. Joseph , and St. Michael, the Archangel and St. Patrick. I pray at least every day and say the Rosary at least once a week and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. However, even though I confess my sins every 2 to 4 weeks, I continue to sin. I curse on the road and at work. I am surrounded by Protestants that believe in the rapture. I am self-centered and selfish, and have some anger. The things I pray for are:
the conversion and salvation of my family, my relatives, my in-laws, and my co-workers and their families. I work for the government. I am depressed and want to love the Lord more. Please pray for me. Thank you.

Prayers for you.

I confess the same sins as well. I think most of us have problems getting off the wheel of life and seeing life from Jesus’ perspective.

Okay, here’s the scoop… We’re all in a battle for our immortal souls with principalities and powers, the powers of darkness. You’re losing some of the battles, so it’s time to ratchet up your defense. Try the following:
  1. Say the Rosary daily, not weekly. I don’t care if you don’t like it or if you think it’s boring. Just do it!
  2. Make a daily examination of conscience, preferably at the end of your day.
  3. Go to Confession frequently. It’s our weapon. Use it. The Saints weren’t people who never sinned. They were people who got up each and every time they fell!
  4. If you’re physically able, fast one or two days/week. Also, if you have any pain or suffering, offer it up to Jesus on the Cross through the hands of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
  5. Make a holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament at least once/week, more often if possible.
  6. Attend Mass during the week if possible.
  7. Have others pray with and for you. Form a spiritual group of two to four good Catholics. Meet once/week and hold each other accountable to where you are spiritually, and to your spiritual exercises.
Don’t retreat! Attack, attack, attack! Give Satan BOTH barrels, right between his spiritual eyes! 🙂

What a heartfelt plea. Your request alone sounds like a prayer. It truly seems you are seeking a deeper relationship with Christ. I will definitely pray for you! There is no one here on these forums who doesn’t struggle with temptation and sin. All the saints struggled as well, except for the Virgin Mary. As I study their lives I can see the difference was they kept coming back to our Lord. They trusted him and devoted themselves to him and were able to be patient with their flaws.

Every one of us has a cross to carry. I practice giving all things to God each day, even the imperfections. Our Lord wants us to intimately share everything with him. The more you share with him, the easier it becomes to give him everything. So don’t back down, keep up with receiving the Sacraments, prayer and fasting, and accepting your burdens as they come. Be assured Jesus is watching every moment and can read your heart. He alone can give the grace you need to grow in virtue…😃
