I was injured on the job over a year ago and have not been able to work for most of that time. I was receiving some financial compensation for a time, but that recently stopped and won’t start again (if at all) until the end of March. My worker’s compensation claim is being hotly contested by my ex-employer despite clear evidence - they also employ as many stalling tactics as they can to keep me from receiving the surgery and treatment I need to re-enter the workforce.

In addition to the physical injury, I’m going through some extremely trying emotional problems now as a result. I had to move back in with my parents due to finances, which opened the floodgates of anxiety and depression that I had been teetering on the precipice of.

NOW, my car has broken down. I have no way to pay to fix it, and my retired parents cannot pay to fix it either. It’s all just been too much, and I have to be honest and admit that I have thought about permanently ending my misery (though I have no plans for it).

Please pray that my troubles and stress ease soon.

Praying for you.

I know advice at these times is. . .can be annoying. My primary bit of advice is to be patient. Know* it will pass *. Meanwhile, try to exercise (even with injury there are some exercises you can do), read the bible, pray, get good sleep, etc.

Asking for prayer is a very good start.

May you receive comfort and strength in the frequent reception of the sacraments if you can somehow get to a church without a car. May you offer up your suffering united to Christ’s suffering and pray ceaselessly to Him for strength, courage, hope and perseverence. May you draw closer to Him at this very difficult time and not fall into hopelessness or despair, which is just what the devil wants you to do. You need all the graces you can get and it is now that the Lord is testing you to see if you will remain faithful to Him, so pray a lot and get to Mass on the weekdays for nourishment if you can. May you persevere in faith and prove yourself faithful to the Lord, and may your time of desolation be followed by a long period of consolation. May you know that God will not abandon you unless you abandon Him first, so be courageous and persevere in faith. You are being tested greatly and the Lord will reward you greatly for your persevering under such difficulty. I’ll be praying for you!
 
May the Lord strengthen and uphold you through this.May He open doors of provision around
you…He promised He would never leave or forsake you…I understand the issues. I also had an accident at work and the damage showed up later in life…

Dear Father, Son and Holy Spirit, your servant Sarah is in deep distress all resulting from an accident which insurers etc., are trying to avoid compensation or at least to delay compensation. Grant release the compensation so that she can have the required medical treatment and also that she can rehabilitate her life and once again get her own accommodation and transport. In Christ’s name. Amen.
