Hi,
I have been unemployed for about 10 months. I have a college degree that isn’t worth anything. I have no skills and am having trouble getting a job. My lack of self-esteem is crippling me from finding a job. Please pray for me that God will grant me confidence and purpose in life.
 
Prayer to St. Anthony for Employment

Blessed St. Anthony, who in life was ever mindful of the needs of the afflicted, consuming yourself in the service of God and for the good of souls, who was the enemy of idleness and a tireless worker in the vineyard of the Lord, beseech God to grant CHK a suitable job, which may procure for him/her and his/her loved ones a decent livelihood, and be at the same time a means of personal sanctification and of real service to others. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

and blessed is the fruit

Hi chk301, I’m praying that you find a job soon. It has been so difficult for so many of my friends and loved ones as well who are in the same situation as you (though several of them have been out of a job for longer than you…) You have to have faith and pray knowing that our Lord will provide.

Meanwhile don’t allow yourself to be crippled by this. My suggestions, volunteer! You can learn various skills, make connections, discover new interests and abilities you may never realize you had and perhaps find a way to incorporate the knowledge associated with that college degree of yours 😉 What is your degree in btw? Maybe I can think of some unorthodox jobs where your degree could be a ticket in. Also, keep learning. Go out there and explore and discover. Try and look at things with a new perspective and think outside the box in how you could make a living.

May God grant you confidence, strength, and resolve. May His will be done in your life and may you have the patience to accept things on His timeline. Amen.

A Prayer for Employment

God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment.
I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment.
Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance.
Grant this through Christ, our Lord.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
