Hello everyone.
My dad has been suffering a bad back for years. Hes had a few slipped disks due to genetics and waited 5 years for an operation on the NHS. As a result he suffered nerve damage and lost a lot of money from being on the sick for so long. He also has arthritus in his back. He has another slipped disk which wasnt removed as it comes and goes.
At the moment his back is really bad. He can’t afford to go on the sick so thankfully he is working from home.
My dad is one of the most generous people I have ever met. He ALWAYS put others before himself and he puts his own suffering behind the suffering of others in true Catholic style. He really could be a role model to us all, as I am sure he has been the best example to me growing up. As a result of this he usually suffers in silence and rarely asks for help as he doesn’t want to burden others. He also accepts that this is the cross Jesus has asked him to bare and rarely, if ever complains.
I too had a slipped disk (and the same operation) however as I was a lot younger I was treated quickly and could heal better as a result. This means I completely understand the kind of pain and limited mobility he is suffering. I am aware I am lucky as I don’t have the same severe back troubles he has, infact mine seemed a walk in the park compaired to his, though they were bad at the time.
Please pray for his back to ease. I know God can work miracles and curing him completley is an easy task for our Lord, and obviously this is what we would all prefer, but my dad has told me God obviously wants him to endure this pain in the long term and he always offers it up to the Lord. (hes had it on and off for at least 25 years now). I just hope that this current bad pain doesn’t stick around for too long.
Thank you all so much, I am also sure my dad will be touched that you are taking the time to pray for him, even if only one person does so.

God bless you all
xxxx

I do understand how distressing it is to see your Dad suffering so much pain. My Dad is also suffering very much.
It’s hard to know your dear Dad is is serious pain.
The condition of your Dad’s back sounds agonizing, and the wait he has had is heart-wrenching. He sounds an extraordinary man of faith, God bless him. You must be very thankful to have such a good man as your father. 🙂
I’ll keep him, and you, in my daily prayers and Masses.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Dear Milletsmo,

your letter touched my heart. those were wonderful words to say about a wonderful man. I also suffer with back problems and understand. May Almighty God send you and your dad abundant grace to make it through this.

MEMORARE,
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen

Dear God through the intercession of Sts. Joseph, Ambrose, and the Venerable Matt Talbot grant that mille’s father may heal properly so that he can better serve You and provide for his family.

O Good St. Anne
you who cured the sick
and laid a healing hand upon the lame,
the blind, and the crippled,
look with compassion upon milletsmo’s dad
in his trouble.

If it is not God’s Will to cure him,
give him strength to bear his burden
and offer it up to Him,
who suffered so much for us.

Give milletsmo’s dad grace to offer his sufferings
in union with Jesus’,
in reparation for his sins and those of others,
for the needs of this troubled world,
and for the release of the souls in purgatory.

O Good St. Anne, compassionate mother,
pray for your weary child.
Amen
