Please pray for my dad

Thank you all for your response, and your continued prayers. May God Our Heavenly Father richly bless each one of you in a unique way. My dad has informed me that he has an appointment in Portland on November 20th. The day before (the 19th) is my sisters’ birthday. Please pray that she will make herself available to take our dad up to Portland on the 19th for his appointment on the 20th.

Using normal rosary beads,begin with:

The Lord’s Prayer : Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed
be Thy name…… Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee…….
the Apostles Creed :I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven …

On the five large beads :

Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood,Soul and
Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son,Our Lord Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

On the ten small beads :
V. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
R. Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

At the end of the Divine Mercy Chaplet say three times:

Holy God, Holy Mighty One Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy
Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Invocation: O Blood and Water that gushed forth from
the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us,
I trust in You (3 times)

Sign of the Cross :in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Hello to all who have been praying for my dad and his trip to Portland. For starters please forgive my procrastinating on this.😃 I wanted to make sure it was a go before posting anything and then have to come back in to make a change.😉
Well, dad made the trip and my sister took him up there. He had a very good experience there and the doctors were nice too.🙂 He has to undergo some treatments, and I am thanking God that he can do the tratments here in Medford instead of going up to Portland every 3 weeks.:extrahappy: I’m not sure when he starts the treatments but I will keep you posted if you wish.
Again, thank you for all your prayers, you are ALL still in my prayers as well.
I hope ALL have a blessed and happy and safe Thanksgiving!
This thanksgiving I am thankful for this group, I couldn’t have gotten through this by myself or on my own… well, you know what I mean…God bless each and everyone of you! and Thank you

Praying for your dad, Patty. I know exactly how you feel. My father had prostrate cancer and it is very painful to deal with. I am praying for you and your mom, also. God Bless you!

He (my dad) has had very little symptoms, and no pain or though he claims.
Your dad had prostate cancer, I take it he has gone to his heavenly home and is complete now and with Jesus? :console:

I will keep y’all updated on my dad, thank you for your compassion for my dad and myself, and my family.
If the treatment does not work here in Medford he was told he’ll have to go up to Portland every three weeks…he has refused to do that, it would entail my sister taking time off from work and he just will not do it. He says…he’s 85 years old and that he’s ready to go. (not to Portland) 😦

Yes, Patty, he is deceased. He passed away on Holy Thursday- April 20, 2000. He died from pneumonia, secondary to cancer. One of the greatest blessings I had was to be able to help take care of my father before he passed on. I was at his side when he drew his last breath. I will thank God for the rest of my life for that blessing. My father lived with prostrate cancer for about 12 yrs. He took medication for the cancer, but he would not get radiation treatment. My mother worked at the nearby hospital and agreed bc she said that the radiation is horrible and was afraid of what that might do to him. She said that he was too old (78) to be able to handle it. He developed Alzheimer’s as well…it was a long road to haul.

My heart goes out to you. Pray for him and just be there for him when you can. You will never regret it! God Bless.
