Hi all,

You have been a wonderful “family” to me here, and I oftentimes write, and oftentimes just lurk and pray on my lunch hour.

My daughter is 2 years old now, and has a white spot on her leg and some bumps on her nose (which, you know could just be a spot and some bumps) and none of the doctors are “worried” but it could be tuberous sclerosis, but PROBABLY IS NOT, but you know, I’m a worrier. We had a bit of a rough patch (putting it lightly) and my husband has segmental neurofibromatosis and tumors all over his leg at the age of 32, so we are a bit “raw” etc. So we are just getting a genetic test done for her to make sure its not tuberous sclerosis, which is probably going overboard, but I just have to “know” that she is ok, etc.

Can you all say a prayer for her, that she is going to be fine? I would appreciate it - you are all some great prayer warriers on here…

As a sidenote, HOW can I stop the worry, the anxiety, the fear, the (gasp) almost despair I feel? I just have never been able to shake it after my husbands diagnosis 4 years ago. He is doing ok, not dying, but in constant pain, ugh. Anyway he is such a wonderful person, and patient, but I have become raw and nervous and scared and fearful over EVERYTHING anymore…

I know I know - pray and give it up to God. I know I know - dont fear or have despair, its a sin against God. I know I know…but how do you STOP??? How??? Please someone - give me some real tools, because I’m so anxious - its like I want all the answers and to know everything is going to be ok forever, because I am just not strong enough (and people say…oh sure, you are strong enough…but I’m just not…)

Thank you, she will help us, I know it. I appreciate you taking the time to pray for me, it means a lot.

Hi Vester 444
I wanted to share with you, as a tool for your own self, my favorite prayer for courage- It was been an enormous help for me as I’ve been beginning my path to Catholicism and have been wrought with fear often as I learn how far from the Truth I have been.

"Dear God, give me courage,
for perhaps I lack it more than anything else.

I need courage before men against their threats
and against their seductions.

I need courage to bear unkindness,
mockery, contradiction.

I need courage to fight against the devil,
against terrors and troubles, temptations,
attractions, darkness and false lights,
against tears, depression, and above all fear.

I need Your help, dear God.

Strengthen me with Your love and Your grace.

Console me with Your blessed Presence
and grant me the courage to persevere
until I am with You forever in heaven. "

It is so applicable to so many situations.

I have prayed for your family, that you will all weather whatever storms may come your way and stay strong in your love for our Savior. Hail Mary…

Praying very hard for your family. May you know good health, peace and happiness!

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Praying for you now… It is natural for a mother to worry about her child.

I guess all I can add (as an RN) is that many children have white spots on them and many children have little bumps on their nose. It is perfectly normal. Don’t miss out on the joy of your little one because you worry about something that “COULD” happen.

Dear Vester, I ask God to grant your heartfelt prayers for your little girl. Our God, You see how anxious and afraid this loving mother is…please allow the right diagnosis and the best treatment…please heal her child.

You’re a mother, it’s your job to worry. No need to apologize for it.

Remember, o most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, sought thy help or asked thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confiddence, I fly unto thee o Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Prayers for you and your daughter, Vester.

And, if it helps, I completely know how you feel. When I see a small symptom on one of my kids (like a swollen lymph node on my son’s groin on the same side as his leg which has several inflamed molluscum contagiosum on it - duh - and has already been checked and determined “normal” by the doctor!) my mind immediately races to worst possibilities, and continues to do so!

Prayers for both of us that we may not be overcome with fear and worry.

I am much calmer (really) knowing taht so many are praying for us. I am very very hopeful that it is nothing, as I sit in God’s “waiting room” waiting for an answer. The point I guess isnt to know the answer but to come to peace while we sit in the Waiting Room, right? Sigh.

Easier said than done, surely.

August 13 will be the day we find out (maybe sooner, hopefully not later) but thats the day they gave us. Praying praying praying…

Thank you again…please continue to say prayers if you have a moment, it means more than you will know to calm me.

I will keep you and yuor daughter and all your intensions in my prayers, God love you and give you peace.:signofcross:

The Holy Spirit has truly worked in mysterious ways here.

I have been so calm in the last two weeks.

We just found out today (6 FULL WEEKS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE) that she does not have tuberous sclerosis.

Thank you everyone for your prayers.

And Thank you God for our Blessings.

Amen.
