I would like to ask everyone who visits this thread to please pray for my dog Doby. My wife and I do not have any children, and we consider him our baby. Six weeks ago he had to have knee surgery due to a luxating patella, knee cap popping in and out of place. While recovering from this surgery he has started having trouble with the “good” leg. Our vet suspects that he could be having the same issue with this leg. This has caused short term lameness in his hindquarters, which if left uncorrected could lead to permanent paralyzes. My wife and I are praying that he does not have to have surgery and this heals on its own. Especially since he has not fully recovered from the first surgery.

Although some may think praying for a dog to be silly, as I said he is our baby. Thank you so much!

God created these little creatures too! Nothing silly about that!
I will be happy to pray for Doby. Praying to St. Francis.

I will be praying for your little dog to heal. It might help if you were
to get him a magnet pad to put under his bed. It helps the circulation and might help him heal faster.
Our pets make wonderful companions, I inherited my daughters’
maltese/poodle Buster when they went to college and he was
a wonderful pet.
Have you read the book “Rescuing Sprite”, it’s a great book by
a dog lover whose story touches everyone who has/had a pet.

Thank you so much TexCatholic4JMJ and Mary Ann, your prayers mean a lot to my wife and me.

Praying for your intentions:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless
In Jesus through Mary

GB, Doby is in my prayers. I can relate to your pet as your child w/fur. My basset hound Ike was just dxed with Diabetes. He had surgery in Aug. for a plum size lump on his back knee that needed to be removed in case it was cancer. (It wasn’t PTL). On top of that, he had 24 small teeth removed due to an abscess.

On top of my health problems, I vigilantly take care of him just because he was a source of comfort for me while recovering from a stroke 2 yrs. ago. DH boarded him at the vet for 10 days. When he picked up Ike the tech told him that Ike cried the entire time and lost his voice. As soon as he got home, he stayed by my side.

It’s my turn now to make him as comfortable as possible. His insulin treatment starts Thursday AM. Please keep him in your prayers that it will work. He is in early stages of Diabetes & I want him to live a happy and healthy life. I can’t have any children so yeah, I do spoil him at times. What dog lover wouldn’t. 😃

He turns 10 on Feb. 9. He recvd an early birthday gift which he absolutely loves…a new lambskin lined bed with a soft rim around the edges so he can rest his neck if his herniated discs act up.

I will pray to St. Francis for Doby. Hang in there.

From one dog lover to another. 👍

Praying a special prayer for your precious little Doby. I hope he recovers soon and doesn’t need the second sugery.

I will be keeping Doby in my prayers. Could you all please keep my dog, Franklin, in your prayers too? He is getting old and he seems to be the only one who comforts me. Dear Lord, please heal Doby. St Francis, I ask for your intercession and to give new life to Doby who means so much to this couple. I ask all of this in Jesus name. Amen.

Wow, I never thought I would get the responses that we have received so far. This is greatly appreciated.

I’m studying to be a Vet,and do vet tech assistance. This is a costly surgery and also one that does take time to heal from I am praying for your Dog. What breed?

It is not silly to pray for your beloved pet. I to have prayed for my pet when he was sick. He is our baby to. I will pray. He will be fine.

GB, As a dog owner all my life, I feel your pain. A dog I had years ago had problems with a disc in her spine, which the vet told me required surgery. As a single mother, there was no way I could afford it, the dog was 10 years old at the time. The vet offered me anti-inflammatories instead, and suggested I keep her in cage-rest for 6 weeks, and see if it would work. All I could do was pray each moment I saw her in pain that she would recover, and that’s what I did.
She made an amazing recovery in about 4-5 weeks - surprised even the vet - and went on to live a full and happy life until she was 14!

I pray to St. Francis that your Doby too will make an amazing recovery without the need for surgery.
And I will keep Franklin in my prayers as well, mom4truth.
