Please pray for my faith - I (a Protestant) am earnest in saying that I am being drawn to the Catholic Church. I am praying the Rosary and praying every day for spiritual guidance. There are many obstacles between me and crossing the Tiber - but I know that if that is God’s plan, it will happen in due time, and if not, then it will not. I sincerely ask for your prayers.

Blessings,

Brian

This is always a good one when I’m struggling to see the truth of something, or when I especially need courage to do the right thing:

*Come Holy Spirit, and fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your Divine Love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth. *

Oh God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit instructed the hearts of the faithful, Grant, that by the same Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Best wishes,

Margaret

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Prayers and Intercessions

Let us raise our eyes to Christ. For his people he was born; he died; he rose from the dead. So let us put our trust in him and pray:
  • Lord, give salvation to those you redeemed with your blood.
Blessed are you, Jesus, saviour of mankind. You did not hesitate to suffer and die for us:
by your precious blood we are redeemed.
You promised to give water welling up into eternal life:
pour out your Spirit over all mankind.
You sent your disciples to preach the Good News to the nations:
help them to extend the victory of your Cross.
The sick and poor share your cross:
give them the gifts of strength and patience.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Almighty Father, let your light soak deeply into our minds.
Stepping forward in the light of your commandments,
may we follow you always, our leader and our guide.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

Father, we your humble servants
pray to you now on behalf of Brian.
Give him the strength to carry on his
quest for the truth. Guide him into your
church and allow us to welcome him with
open arms. Help us to help him as he
swims the Tiber. Send him your special
angel to lead him through the RCIA process.
Hear his prayers and hear ours.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ!
AMEN

Dear Brian,
I can imagine what a big step this is for you, and pray that you will be able to discern with peace and confidence what God wishes for you. I pray that He will help you through any obstacles, and help you past any disapproval or consternation of those in your family or present congregation.

If you decide to come to join the Catholic faith, you are truly welcome…but in any case I praise God for your sincerity and integrity of faith and intention.

I wish you God’s kindest blessings…Trishie

Hail Mary full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed are thou among woman
Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary mother of God
Pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen

I will pray that God will help you discern the path you are traveling down, and that His will may be fulfilled in you. If you are drawn to the Church, your brothers and sisters in Christ will wait with open arms to welcome you Home to Rome.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He turn his face to you and smile upon you. May He be merciful to you and give you His peace. :gopray:

Dear Lord

I pray for Brian
That he may come to know your will, that you would guide him in truth. Lord you have said seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened. Please help Brian through the obstacles he may face. Bless his efforts thus far and grant him perseverance. Increase his faith, hope and love and draw him ever closer to you.

Amen
