Please pray for my family - we're so frustrated!

My husband and I are having a difficult time disciplining our 3 year old adopted son. Our son is very willful and manipulative and the two of us are very ineffective at dealing with him. We need counseling but don’t know who to consult. We live in the Houston area and would appreciate any referrals or recommendations. We would also ask you to pray that God lead us to a person who can help us.
 
Houston, will pray for you and your family to find help and the ability to discipline your child.

I too have an adopted child who was born addicted to drugs and has many problems. He is so loving yet to rough. We sought the help of a physcologist at age 3. Check with your health insurance company and see if you need to have a referral. There are plenty of Christian doctors out there…

Heavenly Father please give these parents relief and renewal, and ensure the guidance and wisdom they require for this little boy. Let Your Holy Spirit inspire and guide both parents and child. Thank You, Father
 
Try contacting your parish and see if they offer any counseling services. Your priest would also be a good person to see. I am praying for you. :signofcross: :gopray2:

Father, please guide this couple in the raising of their son. Please help them learn to be the parents he needs so that they can help him to grow to be a responsible member of society and a loving follower of You and Your son Jesus. Amen.

Make sure the two of you are on the same page in your disciplining of him by perhaps communicating with one another even more than I’m sure you already do.

I have eight children and some of them can be very willful. It is amazing how different two children in the same household can be. I am and will continue to pray for your family. In the mean time, being strong willed can be a good thing when it is channeled for good. I sometimes wonder how many saints were strong willed children.
