Please pray for my friend Eric

I just found out that my best friend from high school has died. He was 43 years old. He left a wife and a 5 year old daughter. He took his own life.

Eric was diagnosed with the gene that causes Huntington’s Disease about 10 years ago. His mother had this disease as well (as does his sister). It causes terrible physical and mental effects, including overwhelming depression, paranoia and psychosis.

Huntington’s attacks in the prime of life, in the late 30’s, and had begun to work in my friend. I think the disease played a huge part in his decision to end his life. If a mortal sin requires full consent of the will, I don’t believe Eric’s suicide could have been a mortal sin. I pray that he is with God.

Eric had essentially no faith. While I believe he was baptized, he was brought up in a secular household, and did not understand the concepts of sanctifying grace, and redemptive suffering. All he had was pain, and no idea how to bring any good from it.

Please pray for him, and for his family and friends.
 
Lord, You alone know the heart of Eric at the moment of his death. Please look upon his soul with mercy, and cleanse him of his sins. In Jesus name we pray.
 
For Eric,
Dear Jesus, take all souls to heaven especially those most in need of your mercy.
 
Dear Lord, praying for Eric and his family and his good friend scaron.

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
 
I have prayed to St. Michael. I also have suffered from psychosis and find that St. Michael will keep me safe from all really fearful plights. May God bless your friend and keep his family safe.
 
Praying for Eric’s soul and for his family and friends who will be dealing with so much.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend.
I will pray now for Eric, his family, and his friends.
 
Jesus, please go to the moment of Eric’s death and let him know You and welcome Your love and salvation.
Jesus, please heal and comfort his daughter and protect her from succumbing to illness and sorrow in her loss. Please comfort and take care of Eric’s family and friends. Thank You, Jesus
