I pray for Pete and for all struggling addicts, past present and future, that they offer their addictions up to You. The grip of addiction holds so many in its clutches, and death to an addict seems only a breath away. In our ignorance we seek that which we hope replaces You fooling ourselves, but never You. We lead ourselves into sorrow and despair. There is but one Hope, one Cure for addiction, to relinquish control to the One who has control… Lord help Pete to see Your Face, to feel Your Presence, and to feel the Healing of your Love…let the tide of Your Love wash over Pete and let him know that his addiction is the lonely and tiresome chasing of shadows…deliver him from the hidden, the fear and self loathing, deliver him Lord and gently return him to his family in friends, make him whole again, as You have made so many whole before.
