I have recently started RCIA and have truely felt that God is brining me to the Catholic church. I cannot even begin to describe the changes that have happened in my life already.

My husband is a non-practicing Baptist. I want him so desperately to come to know what I have found in the Catholic church, but I know it will take time. I also realized what damage I have done in the past with our discussions of religion. We used to “debate” about specifics of theology, because I was very “booksmart” on the Bible, I caused him to hate talking about it with me. I know realize that my facts based approach was not what it should be.

We had our first non-“debate” discussion about the Bible, God, what he really believes, etc. It was wonderful. I was so glad to be able to share a conversation with him without arguing and debating about specifics, and I apologized for being like that (essentially trying to shove facts and knowledge on him). We talked for a good hour, without fighting at all. I hope that in the future we can talk more. And I hope to be an example to him of the love God has shown me.

First, pray for me, that I can be a good Christian and be the example God wants me to be. Please pray for him, that he will be open and receptive, that he will see God’s love in me and want to know more.

You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Congrats on starting RCIA…my wife and son became part of the Catholic family about a year and a half ago…

It’s a very cool journey. Remember you can only change you and live a life of example…those around you may come around when they see how it’s touched your life…and when they want to be a part of this special thing.

🙂

I am my beloved’s, and his desire is for me. Solomon 7:10

Thank you Lord for your blessings upon LuckyLexi and her husband, and upon their relationship. Let their love for You and for each other grow deeper every day. Bless especially their search for truth and wisdom, and show them the way to eternal life. In the name of Jesus Christ.

I pray that your life will speak volumes as to the changes that have come about through your process of conversion to the church. Oftentimes that is what attracts family members to the Church.

Father, soften his heart so that he may be open to your Church.

Amen.

Lord, please help LuckyLexi to be the best Christian she can possibly be, and the best example. Please grant that her husband will be open and receptive to her words about You and Your Church, and that he will see Your love in her and will want to know more. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.

As God has already blessed you so much, I don’t doubt that He will continue to bless and lead you and your husband.
For that, I thank and praise You, Lord.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Praying for the love of God and the inexhaustible light of the Holy Spirit to fill your lives with knowledge of patience, love, and understanding of God’s plans for you both.

PRAYER TO
ST. ANTHONY # 1

“Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints.”

O Holy St. Anthony,
gentlest of Saints,
your love for God and Charity for His creatures,
made you worthy, when on earth,
to possess miraculous powers.
Miracles waited on your word,
which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety.
Encouraged by this thought,
I implore of you to obtain for me (request). The acceptance of God and His creation for these two devout and loving people.

The answer to my prayer may require a miracle,
even so, you are the Saint of Miracles.
O gentle and loving St. Anthony,
whose heart was ever full of human sympathy,
whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus,
who loved to be folded in your arms;
and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.
