Pat has just been diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer and the prognosis is very poor. If there is no cancer found in his liver or his brain (tests tomorrow), chemotherapy may give us another year together. We have been married for 41 years and I can’t even imagine life without him. We need a miracle.

Please pray that I will have the strength to make this ordeal we face easier for him.

I will say a prayer at Mass today for you and your husband. How is your faith life at this time? Do you frequent the Sacrament of Penance, try to complete indulgences, etc.

I am asking because we will all face a similar situation at some point. I would like to turn to my spouse and console her with eternal life. We may not be married in heaven, or even look quite the same but we will be there. It is at least some comfort.

What do you think?

Next calendar year, I plan to order an indulgence calendar from www.bridegroompress.com.

Yes, I will pray for him and for you specially tonight thru the rosary.

Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit Of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Merciful Jesus, during Your life on earth You showed great concern for the sick and the infirm. Have compassion now on Pat who has lung cancer. Grant him a healing of mind and body and restore his strength and spirit.

Comfort him with the knowledge that we are praying for him and his family, and give them peace with a sense of Your presence. May they know that in a special way they are united with You, their suffering Christ. May they contribute to the welfare of the Whole People of God by associating themselves freely with Your passion and death for the salvation of the world. Bless, too, those who take care of the sick. In their own time of need, bestow on them a hundredfold the blessings they have given to others. In Jesus name. Amen

I’ll pray that you may both have the courage and strength to accept your cross. Three Hail Mary and one Our Father. Have faith in God. What ever happens, God loves you.

Praying for both of you…

Praying for you both…

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Thank you so much for your prayer. My husband’s faith is strong and a great comfort to him–thanks be to God. I am a convert (2002) and am always asking God to increase my faith.

We both go to confession regularly and attend Mass more than once a week. We are the RCIA coordinators for our parish as well as sacristans. I have to admit that I have completed very few indulgences and have never totally understood them. I will have to talk to my spiritual advisor about that.

Blessings to you.

Thanks everyone! I hope you will all receive many blessings for your prayers for my husband and all the others for whom you say prayers.
