Please pray for my intentions

Hello, my fellow prayer warriors,

If you could keep my intentions in prayer this week I would really appreciate it, as it seems like several people I know including myself are really in need of prayer.

-For myself, for peace at work. I am in month 3 of a new job and I am in need of peace especially for peace in dealing with my manager. For all those that struggle for peace at work.

-For my brother in law Alex, who is going through a mysterious illness right now, for his health and for the doctors that they may get to the bottom of it (note, this is not a life threatening illness but still problematic nonetheless). For all those undergoing health concerns.

-For a young man I know named James. He has had some drug addiction in the past and thanks be to God has fought through it, but he is facing the consequences of his past and is struggling right now comprehending his future. For all those who feel marred by the past.

-For my wife, who is pregnant, and is starting a new school semester this week. For her strength, health, and well being. For all students starting new classes this week.

-I would like to also pray for growth in virtue, that I may truly be a light for others this week. For love, humility, and mercy. May I listen more this week and talk less. May I pray more and worry less. For all Christians this week, that we may be a light for others and a light in this world which can be dark.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular GratefulLeper, GratefulLeper’s wife,Alex, and James), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal GratefulLeper, GratefulLeper’s wife,Alex, and James. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into GratefulLeper, GratefulLeper’s wife,Alex, and James’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
