This feels insignificant compared to the other prayer requests that I’ve seen/heard and prayed for :o , but please pray for me in my job search. I recently graduated (December) from UCLA, and I’m currently looking for electrical/electronics engineering jobs in California. I’ve only managed to wrangle up two interviews so far in a couple months of searching, so I’ve been feeling pretty discouraged. It’s beginning to affect me spiritually, as I feel like I don’t have the opportunity to use my skills and talents (from God) to contribute to society/God’s people 😦

Keeping you in prayer with St. Joseph The Worker…trust The Lord - He has His plan for you…

I pray that the Lord will bless you with the right job for you and that He will also grant you patience to wait for that right job to come. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

Praying for you Randomguy (by the way, you are not random). You will be in my rosary tonite!

I’m praying for you.

Praying for your intentions.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hi all! I just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and provide a little update. I got a couple rejection letters from Raytheon 😦 , but I also got a possible invite to their invitation only College student Expo in April 🙂 . In addition, I am in the candidate pool for a bunch of positions at Northrop, and one of my applications is actually in managerial review 😃 . Lastly, Boeing has shown some interest, but my phone interview with them keeps getting rescheduled  . Thanks again for all your prayers, and if you can please continue to pray for me in my job search. and may God bless you all and answer your own needs and intentions :blessyou:

Still praying for you R-guy; by the way, things are looking better. God bless you!

Hi I am Snowbille a new CAF member. Firstly, I have a son who is searching for a job. I will not mention the place yet. He is an IT experienced worker. He has been here for more than 2 months now. He is highly qualified and I am confident that in God’s time HE WILL GIVE MY SON A GOOD JOB. I just need prayers for him as he is getting discouraged and depressed. I ask the Lord to strengthen his faith and trust in HIM AND CAST AWAY ALL NEGATVE ATTITUDES.

Thank you all!

Snowbille

I will pray for your son and that his spirits be lifted. Welcome to CAF! God bless you.

Yeah, the whole job search process is pretty rough and discouraging at times. There was a point where even I started wondering if I should start looking at completely different career paths. Fortunately (by God’s grace), I got in contact with some engineering alumni and with some guys in the Knights of Columbus who were (and still are) good mentors, helping me to edit my resume, know who to talk to, etc. Some have even been willing to talk to people in their companies on my behalf. It’s definitely a test in patience, especially in engineering/technology/IT, because the companies’ hiring schedule doesn’t always match with individual needs (i.e. I graduated December, which is not exactly common).

Anyhow, I’ll pray for your son as well. Here’s a good prayer I came across:

God our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment. I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gits and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment. Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙂

I join in this prayer for all.

Hello, another update on my end 🙂 Thanks again for all your prayers. This past week I went to a job fair at Cal State Long Beach and got to talk with a lot of different employers. The day after, I had an interview with a recruiter from the Navy, specifically the Naval Air Systems Command (hiring civilian engineers). I was also informed by a fellow Knight of Columbus that there would be a job fair for Raytheon (where he works) the day after, so I attended that as well. I met with a few hiring managers in different divisions, circulated my resume, and they told me about different opportunities I should apply for. And finally this morning I got an email saying that hiring managers for their Electronics Center would like to schedule a formal interview with me for one of their positions after I fill out their online application (which I did). 🙂

I’m really excited and nervous for this opportunity. I’ve already been through a few interviews, but this would be my first on-site interview (not with a recruiter). I’m especially kind of worried because I graduated about 3 months ago and I know I’ve started getting rusty on some of my skills/knowledge :o I’m really hoping for this opportunity because it’s close to home and I wouldn’t have to relocate, and I wouldn’t have to transfer to a new council (I know, kind of a minor concern, but there nonetheless) 😛 And in general I’m just really eager to get to work already! 😃

So yes, thanks again for your prayers, and if you could please pray for this coming interview in particular, I would really appreciate it 🙂

And Snowbille, still praying for your son, and for all others currently seeking employment :signofcross:

That would be greatly depressing, having graduated from a prestigious university only to have misfortune at finding a job. I guess the economy is truly feeble. . .

Best wishes and prayer!

Keeping your interview in daily prayer with St. Joseph The Worker…

Hi again, this is my final update, most likely. This week I had two interviews with Raytheon, one for a software engineer position and another for an electrical engineer position. I have a third one tomorrow for a systems engineer position. The great news is that I have a job offer for the electrical engineer position 😃 And Raytheon is one of the top tier companies I had on my list, so I’m totally stoked. And I talked to a brother Knight about it, and he was surprised it all happened so quickly. I still have to receive the official package tomorrow, but I got the phone call today 🙂 So thanks be to God, and thank you all (and Mother Mary and the saints) for praying for my search, and hopefully all turns out well and there’s no regularities, so I can begin contributing the God given gifts and knowledge I have to society.

:blessyou:
