I have a 12 year old sister that has to have surgery tomorrow. I am 27, and have not had to endure the physical ailments she’s had. She’s had two other surgeries for her (then) very severe scoliosis. My little sister is like my best friend, but more importantly, she’s my sister. She’s been in so much physical pain her short life. She can’t swim (she can doggy paddle though), she can’t run, she can’t ride a bicycle, she can’t play soccer (which I taught her before she ever had surgery), she can’t be like a “normal” kid. She’s homeschooled because teacher’s were not making accommodations for her documented disability. Her name is Shannon, and she loves animals and nature, and wants to be a scientist. I really appreciate it, thanks.
