Distraught

Guest
I am requesting prayers to touch my wife of 10 years heart. We have had a good, not great marriage, but it has produced 2 beautiful children ( 5 and 3). I am very much in love with my wife and family and want nothing more than a happy home and loving relationship. My wife has informed me that she “has fallen out of love with me” and is requesting time and space to try and regain these feelings. For the first time ever she has mentioned divorce and I am terrified. I realize that I have not been the most attentive husband and she has put up with a lot, but this experience has led to positive changes in my life and I want only to share them with her and my children. I ask that the Lord give me the strength to provide her with the space she needs and to assist me in developing my listening skills. I know the Lord placed us together and I am asking for prayers to provide both of us with the strength necessary to hold this relationship together so we can both grow in love and the Lord. God bless you all.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for the healing of your marriage … May the Lord bless you and your wife, and console you both during these trying times.

I am praying that God strengthen your marriage, encourage your wife to cherish your relationship and accept your faults, and help both of you to grow in faith and love together. I will keep you in my prayers for the rest of today.

Dear Lord, please help “Distraught” and his wife. Please help them grow in love and strength, and let the love between them start growing again, so that what they are going through right now will have been a test that their love could stand. Please bless them with patience and understanding, that they may see each others’ growing and developing; please help them keep this sacred marriage. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

**Readings **
He was chosen by the eternal Father as the trustworthy guardian and protector of his greatest treasures, namely, his divine Son and Mary, Joseph’s wife. He carried out this vocation with complete fidelity until at last God called him, saying ‘Good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord.’

from a sermon by Saint Bernardine of Siena

There is a general rule concerning all special graces granted to any human being. Whenever the divine favor chooses someone to receive a special grace, or to accept a lofty vocation, God adorns the person chosen with all the gifts of the Spirit needed to fulfill the task at hand.

This general rule is especially verified in the case of Saint Joseph, the foster-father of our Lord, and the husband of the Queen of our world, enthroned above the angels. He was chosen by the eternal Father as the trustworthy guardian and protector of his greatest treasures, namely, his divine Son and Mary, Joseph’s wife. He carried out this vocation with complete fidelity until at last God called him, saying “Good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord.”

Remember us, Saint Joseph, and plead for us to your foster child. Ask your most holy bride, the Virgin Mary, to look kindly upon us, since she is the mother of him who with the Father and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns eternally. Amen.

from a sermon by Saint Bernardine of Siena

What emanates from the figure of Saint Joseph is faith. Joseph of Nazareth is a “just man” because he totally “lives by faith.” He is holy because his faith is truly heroic.

Sacred Scripture says little of him. It does not record even one word spoken by Joseph, the carpenter of Nazareth. And yet, even without words, he shows the depth of his faith, his greatness.

Saint Joseph is a man of great spirit. He is great in faith, not because he speaks his own words, but above all because he listens to the words of the Living God. He listens in silence. And his heart ceaselessly perseveres in the readiness to accept the Truth contained in the word of the Living God.

We see how the word of the Living God penetrates deeply into the soul of that man, that just man. And we, do we know how to listen to the word of God? Do we know how to absorb it into the depths of our human personalities? Do we open our conscience in the presence of this word?

Pope John Paul II from Daily Meditations

I know exactly how it feels. Only thing my situation has reached further then your’s. I will pray for you & your family. Do all you can before it gets further. Pray my friend & I will do the same.
Show her you love her & keep her involved with your church. If she reaches a point were she has lost hope & faith in God it gets very difficult.
God Bless you all.

I will pray for you,as I understand to some extent, what you are going through.

I’m praying for your marriage right now.

Eternal Father, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

Amen :byzsoc:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, sought thy help or asked thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, o Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, beofre thee I stnd, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

I will take your intention with me in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament tomorrow.

Dear Jesus, please inspire this wife, and so many others, to realise that what the media has taught us about ‘being in love’ is often one of the most destructive concepts. Jesus, sure we are attracted to another, appreciative, and even excited by them, but that is attraction, not love. Love may also be present, but it is only proved and only real in the ordinary challenges of married life.

Please let this wife give her spouse another chance.
Please give this husband all the graces and perseverance to cherish his wife in a way that helps to give them and their children happiness.
Please ensure the well-being and happiness and security of these two young children as their parents learn and persevere in loving with genuine mutual love.

Amen to your prayer asking that:
“the Lord give me the strength to provide her with the space she needs and to assist me in developing my listening skills. I know the Lord placed us together and I am asking for prayers to provide both of us with the strength necessary to hold this relationship together so we can both grow in love and the Lord.”

Thank you and God Bless you all. I feel your prayers and have faith that they will touch my beautiful wife’s heart.

Lord bless bless this family, I am praying for your family now. God bless.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
